Some LS mates and I wanted to give this a try but can't seem to get it right. We have our kiter outside the party claim and CFH on a mob, he then links together a large number of mobs. We stagger astral flow in a timely fashion but almost all of the mobs depop after the first astral flow. The mobs do not turn and attack the Smns and we're all targeting the same mob for astral flow. We tried having the kiter /heal we tried having him spam buffs and JA's during the pull and when he's holding them there. How do we prevent the mobs from depoping?

I havent tried this yet because I havent found anyone to let me in on it.
Are you targeting the call for help monster with your astral flows or another mob? Are you releasing after you astral flow?

When I'm out soloing and lets say I get a link to fenrir, if I pull the mobs away from spawn then when I release fenrir after killing the mob I attacked, the link despawns. If I dont pull away from spawn then the link just goes about its business after I release. Maybe your not suppose to release if thats what your doing but I dont know.

Having not done one before myself I couldnt say.

Yeah, likely due to the avatar dying or being released before the next Astral Flow lands. AOE moves do not add the SMN to the hate list for any mobs except the one you directly target with the AOE, thus once the avatar dies, the only mob who's hate list isn't empty is the one you targeted, and all other mobs are likely to depop.

These are the same mechanics that allow a SMN to depop adds by tossing an AOE on the mob they want to keep and hitting the adds with splash, then releasing the avatar to get rid of anything that was hit by the splash aside from the intended target.

Make sure the jelly closet to camp is accounted for (preferably killed) before the SMN burn party syncs. Found that out the hard way in one of our botched runs tonight. This jelly was concealed in the mobs that were part of the train and may had just popped.

Also do not forget to build as much hate on the mob the summoners are to target before using CFH. Casting a summon while Astral Flow active (after you did the first round of Diamond Dust) is a major hate boost and will pull hate off the puller. We botched another run cause they decided to pull the tank mob at the last minute.
