I have a 65 summoner and I'm having a rough time getting parties and what not. Anyone recommend a field manual I should try out. Been looking on Encyclopedia but a lot of the mobs for some of the pages, I'd think i'd be screwed over with constant death.

Suggestions?

From a solo-standpoint:

From doing some lookin' over, you're like in the middle of things. Xarcabard is just a shade below you (for smacking EP's, solo). By appearance the 'ones' that are near-equal level if a little higher would be Ro'Maeve, Cape Terriggan. However that is the 'recomendation' of the book as 60-65~ so expect DC/EM atleast :"(

If you see people around that could technically get xp (EP atleast) then grab a level sync buddy. I don't see how they could decline unless they're farming :x

Campaign is pretty slow (unless I'm doing it wrong) I heal, I buff up npc's with earthen ward, thunder spikes, raise where i can. But I've been only capping at 800 or so xp. I use my op credits to do bombing runs at 180 xp each. I'm only at the 3rd medal though (Allied Ribbon) that might be what's hindering my progress.

i'll try dc bunnies in Cape, it's worth a shot. Thanks.

Sadly buffs are pretty worthless now in terms of points earned, although they're still incredibly useful to the players they hit. So if you're going for exp, skip the buffs, but if you're there to have fun and influence the outcome of the battle then drop those buffs any time you see a group of allies clustered together. As far as earning exp, the 3 best ways are to deal damage, take damage, and heal damage. SMN isn't very good at taking damage, and sadly ***** you SE) damage our avatars take doesn't count... so your best bet for exp is to split your effort between healing & DD.

Melee, and have your avatar melee alongside you. Have it do a few melee BPs, and throw in some magical BPs too. Make sure you take damage, that'll increase exp as well. But don't die. =P

Enfeeble; Paralyze, Slow, anything. If you're /WHM, Paralyze is best for its low cost and low recast. Keep casting it once in a while if whatever you're fighting doesn't have Paralyze.

Raising is great, do it whenever you get the chance. And curing is good, but try to get the most efficient cures you can whenever you get the chance. Carbuncle's Healing Ruby and Healing Ruby II (in the right situation) are very efficient.

Carbuncle's probably one of your best bets for campaign for his ability to stay out long at the least cost, some of the best cures, some relatively cheap buffs, and some pretty decent BP: Rage.

At around your level I generally got my exp up to around 1500-1900 exp in maybe 20-30 mins. I think I might have been capping for the length. It's not the greatest of exp, but it's pretty good and easy. I'm also pretty sure I could have done better if I wasn't capping. I slacked a lot. Also, it gets better as you get access to Spirit Taker at 66 (if your staff is leveled) and Sublimation and Aspir from /SCH at 70 and 74, respectively. If you haven't leveled the /SCH, I'd recommend you do so at least around then. And obviously, better BPs from SMN.

You should try to get your medals up, too. It only takes a few hours every period of 5 days to raise it as fast as possible.

FoV might offer something better, I haven't tried there. But I would suggest maybe a party of 2-3 for best results.

While i don't have a lot of time to play per day, maybe 1 - 1:30 hours per day.

I leveled my Smn form 33 (Before FoV) to 45 atm.
Qufim Island 33-35
Beaucedine Glacier 35-42
Behemoth's Dominion 42-45 i will stick a few more lvls

So, I could keep my skill cap Staff & Summoner magic

Really easy if you have a fellow NPC, to help you.

In all honesty, if you want to solo xp you should go the traditional bomb method up in Ulg. Range or Ifrit's Cauldron (can't remember which is better for your level. Its been a while).

While it may be more dangerous than FoV and Campaign, it will teach you invaluable knowledge about have, avatar kiting, and magic aggro range.

I agree with KitaKaze. Ulegeurand Range bombs are awesome exp until maybe 72ish? Agloolik's (the ones at the top) are probably too hard to solo until 67-68, solely because they just destroy Carby too quickly. Often times Carby was killed before his recast timer was up.

Akselloaks are the next level below, which will do you pretty good if you can find a safe camp, and although I don't remember off the top of my head, I'm pretty sure there's at least one spot where you can kite them.

There's also a pretty good camp for Morozkos, right at one of the cave entrance where Father Frost spawns. Those would be safer/easier but net you less exp. Also, if Father Frost shows up, don't bother with him unless you have like an hour or more of time, because he took me well over an hour to Carby/Fenrir kite :/

From a BST's perspective, I'd also recommend the Snolls in Ulegeurand Range.

I'm really just posting to /wave to Kaze and Jobberwock cuz we're on the same server ._.

Djinns in Vunkerl Inlet (s) are better. I flew from level 58 to 70 in very little time, even considering the day limitations - and I had a blast (no pun intended) along the way.

This person speaks truth. This is really some of the best solo exp ever. But when you're not doing this, campaign is a nice alternative.

east altepa desert at 65,I dont remember the page but you kill so many gobs and a lesser manticore for 970 exp.
You could also do west altepa desert page4, kill 2 gobs and 8 scorpions for 1080 exp. You could do west altepa page4 probably upto lvl69 or so. After that start doing west altepa page5.

Agreed with the above, especially with the addition of Anniversary ring and kupfried powers. Its ridiculous.

I'm almost 75 (OMG!) off high level snolls in Ule[TAB] Range. Chain 1 nets 720xp, and with kupofried running speed increase, you can literally outrun hypothermal combustion.

Djinns are going to be your best bet, northern park of Vunkerl Inlet has a great camp, but can only be solo'd easily on Ice and Lightning days, by using Ice spikes and Rolling Thunder to give Djinns instant tp move ability. Other days require elemental magic, which only kind of works (hate is crazier).

***** FoV, just grab refresh from Xarc and go solo bombs in Ulegerand Range.

I've always found bomb soloing to be great EXP. Whether it be Ulegerand or Ifrit's.

I agree, soloing in the cauldron and xarc is the best way IMO to solo xp. It especially helps to have the annaversary ring or the regular xp ring.

After level 70, however, grab another SMN and head to the mire.

Synced or unsynced, you'll still get great EXP/hour. More than the range will ever provide.
