Emerald Earring: Evasion 2 Pet: Evasion 2

That's as good as it's gotten so far for me. There's a way to get another key, it's not exactly amber, but it's still the same cap type of key you get from a goblin in port jeuno he'll give you in return for the goblin food you get. I just don't know if I got to talk to him and then I can go outside and farm or if I have to go find a CS to trigger the mission again. Wiki says the key is 40 cap but I just got a swordbelt 43 with str aug in it.

A question about obtaining the keys again.

The ones from the goblins you talk to him, tell him which key you want and then you go outside and farm the beastmen or the goblins depending on which you want. You don't have to re-activate a quest or anything? I can just tell him the key I want I get a "time limit" and run outside and start slapping gobbies around?

And for the key you get from the ACP final fight, not the body armor one, do I get that when helping others fight the boss or do I have to re-climb and get the key items again?

As I understand it there are a few keys around.

Prismatic key. You will only get this one if you finish the final battle and have tossed your body. (Probably also requires a re-climb with cap in the tower)

Ebony key. Requires you to reclimb the tower and then do the BC again (and win)

Ivory key. Gather the seed parts in Fei-yin and do the BC. This is not possible after Azure key.

Azure key. Just gather the seeds and pick key instead of BC item.

Amber key. Do the mandy fight (requires regathering of the 3 goblin NM key items first). This one is not possible after Viridian key.

Viridian key. Trade in the salad etc key items. This one is not possible after Amber key.

Crimson key. Just trade him seedpalls from the meri, jugner, pashow zones.

I try and do Azure, Amber and Crimson every day to see if I can get anything out of it.

Alright, thanks I'll be doing that unless i get a chance at doing the BC instead, someone said those keys drop better items possibly. Did a key yesterday but got a yellow stone, nothing good yet.

They seem to have re-done the wiki slightly and it seems to be the best way to get pet stuff (earrings only though) by redoing the BC in fei-yin.

http://wiki.ffxiclopedia.org/wiki/Ivory_Key

Not sure how many augments you get in general, but if it is 2-3 per item (something I feel like is the common amount) then it should be about 2/6 or 33% chance at pet augments.

http://wiki.ffxiclopedia.org/wiki/Crimson_Key

Fetching the seedpall items from beastmen seem to not be so profitable for pet jobs. If they have gotten this list somewhat correct then it is only saracene cape that can get the augments, and it leaves you with about 12% base chance at even getting the item that COULD have augments for pets. And on that one it is just 2/5 chance or so.

Of course a back slot pet augment is really good so it may be worth doing since it is rather easy.

http://wiki.ffxiclopedia.org/wiki/Viridian_Key

This one seems completely pointless for us SMNs (from a pet augment view). Unless there is undiscovered pet augments here it is never worth trading in the key items to pop the NM goblins.

http://wiki.ffxiclopedia.org/wiki/Amber_Key

This one is worth redoing partly because of the 500 exp, and also because it can give you a neck or belt pet augment. Of course again it is only about 2/6 or 33% chance at pet augment if you get these items. And to even get them it is about 18% chance. So worth redoing, but not very likely to get good stuff from it.

http://wiki.ffxiclopedia.org/wiki/Azure_Key

This is your option for skipping the BC for Ivory Key. It seems to be a bad option because even while just running and getting it is the easiest option out of them all, it also has ZERO chance at pet augments if the wiki is correct.

So the option is ZERO chance on easy chest, or about 33% chance on doing a BC first. I recommend you all to find friends and doing the BC daily instead of going for this key.

http://wiki.ffxiclopedia.org/wiki/Ebon_Key

This doesn't seem like it has been edited yet so it is hard to say which things come from what. Wiki says at least 2 of the items can get pet augments, so not completely wrong to do. The slots these are on are ring slots, which I guess we already have evokers on one of them but it wouldn't be completely bad with another ring.

Rough estimate on these items is 10% chance at the rings who have pet augments (perhaps all can have it), and 3/7 and 1/8 reported so it seems fairly rare too.

Since it requires both a reclimb with 30 cap and the final BC it really requires some time and a good group to attempt. Recommendable if you can do it, but if you have to choose just one or two, then you can probably skip this one.

In short, to improve your SMN with pet augments you should focus on:
1) http://wiki.ffxiclopedia.org/wiki/Ivory_Key (Moderate chance earring)
2) http://wiki.ffxiclopedia.org/wiki/Amber_Key (Low chance neck/belt)
3) http://wiki.ffxiclopedia.org/wiki/Crimson_Key (Low chance back)
4) http://wiki.ffxiclopedia.org/wiki/Ebon_Key (Quite low chance ring)

At least from what I can gather from the wiki. My personal experience doesn't really say any of these seem to give a lot of pet augments.

Yesterday I tried redoing all the missions to see what I would get from the keys.

Seedspall - Utsusemi ni yeah...after this I flipped out didn't bother redoing the rest cause I was pretty well happy with my drop from this one.

I traded in my Amber Key just now and got a Brocade Obi augmented with Enhancing Magic +1 and Pet: Magic Accuracy +2.

All glory to the hypno toad-, er, I mean the Tenshodo Treasure Coffer. >_>

Now if I can just get my hands on some magic accuracy rings or earrings, I can probably fully merit Avatar Magic Accuracy...without having actually touched Avatar Magic Accuracy! (Picked the Pet: Magic Acc/Atk on my body piece as one of my augments btw).

Went out myself to farm the Rare/EX Seedspall items and trade them in after I heard of this, hoping for a quick buck. Got the key, traded it in...

...and wound up with a Gold Obi augmented with MP+4, Pet: Acc./Ranged Acc. +1.

No money, but nice item and another thing to shove in my BP macros lol.

Oh, that one isn't on the wiki. And I thought I was through with seedspalls after getting the cape. Oh well the mandy fight one still gives neck and belts so I can probably live without hose speedspalls anyway.

Seems like the pet stats on the crimson key is restricted to +1 anyway, so it isn't like it is a huge loss when it comes to accuracy (a bit more loss if it is macc or att)

I think the max might be "tier of key". Which explains why the level 30 key is 0-1 macc, while things like the tier 6 key can have 0-6 acc.

Which means you can only really solo +1,+2,+3,+4. The two BCs for +5,+6 requires parties. Relatively fair. Still wonder if you can get +2 pet stats on the goblin key items chest, because nobody has reported it yet.

Just beat ACP11 today and turned in all my keys

Vile Elixir
Wyvern Scales

Now for the important items.

I chose the Royal Redingote specifically for SMN DD. Augmented with Pet Magic ACC/ATT +7 to go with my Pet physical merits.

The real juicy one was the ring I got.

Angel's Ring:
CHR +4 (bst and dnc will love this)
Random Augments-
ACC+5 - replace sniper's once DDs hit 72 (no Def or Eva down, no -20 darkness)
Pet ACC/RACC +2 (not much but bst drg and smn can use.)

I have no wish to swap either item for another and I am so glad that unless I want to help someone with fight I never ever have to do that stupid climb again.
