The Allakhazam SMN "Look what I did" threadFollow

Basically the recently closed thread was turning into this, and upon its being closed I realized we didn't have one of these.

This is your basic "recent accomplishment" thread, not a ding thread. Post all the fun things your SMN has done lately, and any great loot-whoring you might have done. It can be big or small, funny or serious, it doesn't matter.

I'll start it off with something small and funny, but awesome at the same time.


NERF THE SMN/WHM ENFEEBLING!! This was fooling around and holding Omega at 10% for about 20 minutes to get as many pod ejections as possible. I was screwing around and playing with Paralyze and Slow for sh*ts and giggles and got this:

Took about 15 tries, but was funny as hell.

The ZM5 one is really nice. That flesh can be a pain in the ass.

Not recent but I once landed sleepga on Jorm with Shiva. Of course someone else cast a ES sleep II around the same time so it is very possible there was just some bug with the text.

(I seem to sometimes get information that is normally filtered out if I do a similar ability near the same time. For example other avatars are filtered out, but if I BP almost at the same time I sometimes get 2 numbers shown for mine and anothers avatar)

Thanks for once again displaying how little you know about this game by scoffing at 105 enfeebling skill sticking paralyze on Proto Omega, a mob which you probably still haven't seen. If you HAD seen Proto-Omega, or fought it with a half-competent linkshell, you would know that you can pretty much annihilate it in a few short minutes, but you have the option of hanging out and goofing around for 20+ minutes and possibly getting extra coins, AF items or even chips, which can save you entire Apollyon runs. In that time, there's really nothing else to do besides keep the tank alive and try to give the mob TP with low tier spells and intentionally weak melee. Wow. Intentionally weak melee - you might actually be useful in this fight.

If he had landed paralyze with Thunderspark, it wouldn't have been funny. The humor goes over your head because you don't know anything about game mechanics.



I wasn't "proud" of them. I was demonstrating that a level 65 NIN could easily do more damage with weapon skills on IT mobs than you could do at 75 with Spirit Taker on Qutrubs, which have a damage amplifier trait (sort of a cheater mob). This was not to demonstrate how strong NIN weapon skills were, but how weak summoner weapon skills are. At 65, I was beating your damage. At 75, my weapon skills do many times what your spirit takers do, and without trying to inflate my numbers by using weapon skills against mobs that are naturally extra-weak to melee damage, like qutrubs.

Most important thing you can do is just not respond to him/her and let them cut their own throat. The admin's are watching CM, and he/she is really skating close to the edge that the mute will probally be coming fairly soon.

I found out the TP return on a 5/5 Rush is 41%.

Multi-hit BPs do not behave like Weaponskills. I never knew this.

Its not that big but I just got my evokers rings.

That ring is huge for SMN. :P

FINALLY got my YY Robe, after more than a year of camping that damn NM! Hooray!

Heh, why do people who are taking a break do that? I've seen it happen so many times. I know a guy who tossed full god gear, took a break, came back 3 months later like, "Hay guys, do I get to lot on Byakko's Haidate?"

Gotta add another accomplishment!: hating pretty much all SMNs I meet (except the ones in my LS and like 2 outside). I play SMN the "traditional" way: I cure, I BP, I don't melee (my staff is capped and I'll melee when I'm duoing with my best friend for fun, lol) and I always lean my role towards the support spectrum. I don't like to FARM on SMN (I like to solo big mobs like Ungur), I get all of my exp on WAR or BRD, and pretty much I only use SMN for Assault, some salvage and Einherjar. That being said, my gear is pretty much A+. There's a few things I can get like Marduk, but outside that I have capped merits etc. So why the hell do I always get /checks and when other SMNs ask what I use for melee gear and I say, "Nothing" they get all pissy? Last time I checked SMNs don't need melee gear to accomplish anything in this game except for personal benefit. I'm really starting to get irritated :<

Think of it like this: a pld is supposed to tank, right? So what should he gear himself towards? Obviously the answer is gear that'll help him enhance holding hate and/or damage reduction. Depending on their SJ (just like smn) they situationally place in gear that'll help their overall performance.

A summoner is supposed to, y'know, summon, right? So obviously we're going to have some form of gear that'll help enhance that (AF, Auster, Smn. Torque, etc.) But then you'd have to think realistically and buy hMP gear to increase the frequency of BP and then account mp you'll be using for other roles (healer). What I just listed is the traditional way of SMN, but I'm not knocking the melee aspect, I just don't gravitate towards it. That's why I'm annoyed :P.

Got my YYR. Then in the next party when I leveled back up to 71, I equiped the robe, and the pld (who also is 75 smn) said "I @#%^in hate you"

Unintentional side effect of people thinking they DID have ratebots if it was a joke.

Not really. It reflects how "mainstream" you are. Assuming this would be a naruto forum you'd have high rating for being "Naruto is awesome!" and low rating if you were of the type "Naruto has just been boring fillers lately".

However when I hear ratebots I always get confused at which direction you are talking. Rate up or rate down, the person mentioned is the owner or the target? So if anyone talked about "my" ratebots I'd probably assume they talked about bots targeting me for rate downs. Not that I get rated down often enough to suspect there to be any.

Does this mean that I'm more mainstream than NegPos?

lol Let's not fool ourselves. "Mainstream" designations are a chicken and egg argument. Am I mainstream because I have the red name, or do I have the red name because I am mainstream.

Colored names are an illusion of power. When there are only three things that differentiate posters before looking at the content of their posts, then there will be a perceived hierarchy. And, since colored names trump both postcount and premium access, colored names represent the largest illusion of power.
