GE invented a super small and almost completely silent way of cooling your new laptop/tablet/wombat powered doomsday device.
What I've gathered from the article is that it's basically a sort of bellows that'll shrink and expand at a high frequency to create an airflow instead of a noisy and bulky fan. (skip to 1:15 instead of 2:15 in the video in the article to see it in action)

Huh. Interesting concept. I have some piezo blocks here, I'll have to see if I can make one and see if it moves enough air for my CFM meter to read it.
