Ok, So I got a new laptop awhile back for the sole purpose of playing FFXIV. After installation, I can get about 4 minutes of game play before it crashes (just black screen). I've tried everything, update the drivers, checking temp with fans, reinstalled the game, updated directX tested another game (Guild Wars and it worked).. I don't know what else to do..

Since FFXIV hasn't been doing too hot, I just decided to play ffxi, which only crashed 3 or 4 times at first, but then started to crash after attempting to leave the mog house. So, I reinstalled Playonline and it worked.. So, just now recently, it started crashing again, so I uninstalled Playonline and tried to reinstall it. It crashes through the update. If I leave Playonline running, it crashes.

I say this because I'm not sure if there's a connection, but here are my specs for my laptop.

Long shot, but have you upgraded your nVidia drivers to the Jan 18th WHQL? They fixed known issues with the GeForce 400s and FFXI.
