Advice appreciatedFollow

100% new to this, but my HP Dragon died and I've decided to build a "gaming" PC. I've been researching and going through your threads for a few days now and I think I've put together something that may work for me... any thoughts would be appreciated and any suggestions for anything I may have missed.

Ty much in advance

I am a little confused.

Two quick questions

Is the DDR2 memory for a different computer?

What are you using to power this computer?

Just so you know putting DDR2 memory into a motherboard that uses DDR3 is a bad idea.

Yup, you'll want DDR3 ram and you will need a minimum of a 650 watt Power Supply, prefferably more for that machine.

I'd also get more than 2 gigabytes of memory if you're gonna be running on a 64 bit OS. At minimum 4, and your motherboard selection can handle up to 16 gigs total. I'd aim for 4 sticks of 2 gigs each as the goal, for a total of 8.

The HAF case you specified the first time is a far superior case to the one you have now. They will both work, but the way I look at it, is the case is the single component you will have longest out of all your computer parts (10+ years on average). why not get the good one? The blue ray player you have there will playback blue ray movies, but it cannot burn blue ray disks. Personally, I'd spend $20 more and get this one: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16827136181
Which can burn blue ray disks.

That CPU cooler is nice and will work, but the one that comes stock with the Phenom should work if you don't want to spend the money.

The asus motherboard you had listed before is much better than the asrock one you have listed now. you get what you pay for on motherboards generally.
