Wireless network suddenly not detectedFollow

ZAM user Lahurah has the awesome Wings of the Goddess PC she won from ZAM a few years ago.

I recently installed a new power supply for it, as the fan was dying in her old one.

Since the installation, she has been unable to detect a wireless network.

I'm honestly, really and truly stumped here.

Stuff we've done:

- Tested USB wireless dongle on another PC (it works)
- Replaced the dongle anyway with a brand new one from Cisco (works on my PC, does not work on hers)
- Verified that the wireless dongles are detected by Windows (they are)
- Uninstalled and reinstalled the drivers for the new one
- Confirmed she is able to access the network via Ethernet (she can)
- Uninstalled and reinstalled the nVida nForce network LAN controller (just in case)
- Tried manually entering in the SSID to force detection (no good)
- Used the command prompt to ensure the network had permission as an infrastructure (it does)
- Checked the router's control panel to make sure there were available IP addresses through DHCP (there are)
- Verified that the wireless network is appearing on other devices (it is)
- Verified that she is able to access other wireless devices in the house (she can detect the wireless network printer just fine)

I'm out of ideas and I'm ready to wipe and rebuild the system, but it's Vista (*sigh*) and backing everything up is going to be a huge headache.

Is there anything glaringly obvious I forgot to check, or could my replacing the power supply have anything to do with this? Everything else runs peachy keen on this system, inasmuch as Vista can be described as running well.

The only thing I can think of is the router being somehow configured to block her device wirelessly, but that seems unlikely to occur by accident.

are you using WZC or third party utility to manage the connection? any errors in the log?

I've had mixed results in xp between the two. Some apps work better then the XP's built in, sometime I have more stability with XP's utility.

With all the tinkering, the IP stack may have gotten flubbed up too. I've had to use the NET SH.... command to reset it xp before...found a quick how-to for Vista:

We managed to fix it by uninstalling ALL network drivers and then reinstalling them from scratch. Most bizarre thing ever.
