Router issue with WoWFollow

I'm having issues with getting WoW to run when I use my router. If I hook up directly to the modem, I have no issues playing the game. If I use my router though, I have extreme lag. I thought the issue was the router dying, so i bought a new one but am still having the issue.

The router is a Netgear Wireless-N 300 Router, WNR2000v2. Any ideas?

No, plugged directly into the router, with wireless on the laptop shut off.

Try updating your routers firmware.

Also add exceptions for the ports WoW uses for your PC.

The port list can be found on the blizzard support site.

If all else fails completely switch off the routers firewall.

Also, some routers have gaming QoS option. you can try enabling/disabling that.

There is a script on wowinterface for lowering ping on WoW. Not sure if I am allowed to post it here but it has worked wondefully for me and a friend.

Thanks, but I may have missed a key component here. I'm computarded. I can't find a way to shut off the firewall in any of the options for the router. In order to enable the ports Wow uses, I need to set up port forwarding apparently, and that requires the IP address for WoW and will only enable it for which ever specific IP address I put in.

I'll look around again when I'm home and see if I can find the firewall settings, maybe I missed them.

Thanks. Tried a few things, but still not working. And now when I plug directly into the modem and bypass the router altogether, I have the same issues. Have the cable company coming out Monday to look at things on their end.
