That right there tells me it's a laptop, and most likely is unable to run XIV. Also requires a 2.0 Dual core processor...so you're pretty much screwed.

The hardware should run it. Chances are its your driver version out of date. Try updating it from the AMD site to the latest catylist drier or whatever they are claling it these days.

Well Kao, I'm certainly no expert, but I was thinking that
Quote:
Processor: Intel(R) Core(TM) i7 CPU Q 720 @ 1.60GHz (8 CPUs), ~1.6GHz
is what's holding him back. I know it has 2 more cores than required, but they're slower than the minimum speed required. Not to mention that in the past mobile processors have always been lesser powered than their stationary counterparts. Again, I'm no expert. I know that I don't have a PC that will run XIV. Judging from the reviews though I'm apparently not missing much.

That might be it, but a core i7 1.7 mobile is still faster than a core 2 duo 2.0 desktop processor. I'd still try a driver update.

Absolutely, I was just playing Devils Advocate. Does this forum always become busier when a new game gets released? Will it be like this for Cataclysm?

thanks for the feed back guys was wondering if u could post a link as far as where i would need to go for the update on the drivers 1.6ghz is when my comp is not dpoing anything but when more is needed it will kick in the cores and go to 2.8 well thats the way they put it to me... but im no expert on such things. how true that is remains to be seen i guess

uggh... speedstep/powersaving features--one of the first things I go through and start turning off certain ones when I build a system--hate that crap. When I first started FFXI, power saving would kick in and blink my monitor off if I wasn't chatting enough (use a PS2 controller instead of mouse/keyboard).

As for the drivers... www.ati.com. Below is a direct link to the drivers section. If you aren't familiar with the process of removing/reinstalling ATI drivers, watch the videos. Many times just upgrading ATI/nVidia drivers over older ones have led to strange results.
