Broadband InternetFollow

#1 Nov 24 2009 at 9:47 AM Rating: Decent
So I have a problem. I want to get broadband internet to be able to play Xbox Live and continue playing WoW. However, there is really oonly one service provider that comes out to where I live. When typing my phone number and city into their website to see if broadband is available is says yes. When called, they said it was not. I already am using that company's phone service as well. They are at my house and on my road all of the time anyway. Why can they not just install it anyway? I am willing to pay them extra as well. Any help is appreciated.

you dont mention if its cable or dsl but I am guessing it would be dsl. Running a dsl line to your home isnt quite as simple as etting some wire from pt a to b.
They have to build a substation that has to be I believe less then 3 to 5 miles from you.

For one customer it wont happen, but if you get a petition with enough customers for them to think they can make a profit.... thats another story thats option one

I am also guessing you dont get cable at your home or cable internet would be a solution. same thing find out where nearest cable is and try to get it to you option 2

Lastly you can go with directtv or hughes net but they arent cheap or enormously fast but better by far than dialup

beyond that not having more specifics you can move or learn to love dialup
