Running WoW from an external HDFollow

#1 Aug 20 2009 at 8:49 AM Rating: Decent
So I've been moved to the night shift and needless to say it is not nearly as fast-paced. I have an IDE/SATE to USB adapter and I was pondering taking one of the old hard drives I have laying around and throwing WoW on it.
I've ran Diablo 2 off my flashdrive for awhile. The load times were kind of goofy, but the game ran fine. Has anyone tried this before? How well does it work? Can I just copy my C:\World of Warcraft folder to the new drive like I've done for other games or do I have to install all 3 expansions and download GB after GB of updates?

You can just copy it over and it'll run fine. You could also get a 32GB flash drive and have it be more portable, and certainly less visible to anyone looking over what you're doing at work.
