hey, I'm from Australia so any laptops found in an australian store would be a great help, I'm looking to spend AROUND $1000 AUD.
All of my mates have told me i'm looking for about 2gb ram and a pretty high quality graphics card, anything else would help like amount of HDD, size of the CPU etc, or if you're feeling kind would you be able to link me a site for a good laptop to buy. I have a job atm and don't currently have anywhere near $1000, thats just my aim, so the cheaper the better!
thanks for the help, and remember its $1000 AUD.

I can recommend a sight with good pc's, I have personally used 2 of their built computers, and find the quality and prices to be great. That being said, I have no idea what it would cost to ship to you, nor what australian dollars do as compared to the u.s dollar.

More importantly if you are looking for a pc to play games on specifically wow, a desktop is the cheaper option, and a good one that will easily run wow can be had for 600 american, that isnt to say there arent better for a lot more money, but id say a pentium 4 with a 9800 gtx oc and 2 mb ram on win xp will handle it pretty well. I would start by looking for one similar to that and price it, and go up from there. (at least with desktops) A laptop may indeed have a better cpu but I havent seen a much better video card than the 9800 gtx for any reasonable price. I also doubt you could get a comparable system to the core2 duo desktop and 9800 gtx on a laptop for under a 1000 american. Id would love to be proved wrong tho so if anyone else can help id love to hear it as well. I am strictly a desktop user/owner and have little use or experience with the laptops.

If my memory serves, you're looking at about $800 USD. Not going to find a gaming laptop for that amount. $1100 USD is more the price range for an acceptable gaming laptop and $1500 USD will get you into the good/better range.

Personally I'm looking at an ASUS for when I start classes in a few weeks. It has it's flaws but for the price it's pretty solid.
