I am getting a new computer but can't decide on the graphics card.

I'll choose 4GB of ram, 500GB HD, and a AMD 7750 Black Edition (which I have heard based on bios settins, is actually a quad core with 2 disabled at factory)
My mother board will be the ASUS M4A78-E ATX.

I now can't decide on the video card to get. I can probably afford $130-$160 CAD before taxes and have the following choices below:

nVidia
http://www.ncix.com/products/?sku=36894&vpn=GS250XYDFC&manufacture=XFX&promoid=1046

ATI
http://www.ncix.com/products/?sku=38303&vpn=HD477AYDLC&manufacture=XFX

They say the 9800GTX+ is the same thing as a GTS 250 so I found these comparison charts below:
http://www.tomshardware.com/charts/gaming-graphics-charts-2009/compare,1057.html?prod[2381]=on&prod[2385]=on&prod[2398]=on

Based on this the GTS 250 looks like it does better on most stuff then the 4770

I also read this, now I won’t be buying two right now but still :D
4770 HD x2 in Crossfire.
http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/radeon-4770-crossfire,2288.html
$220 for two of them in USD

Compared to:
GTX 280
http://ncix.com/products/?sku=30563&vpn=01G-P3-1286-AR&manufacture=eVGA
$600 dollars for this lmao

So it at least shows for 1/3 the cost I get the same, if not better performance out of the 280 GTX.

People have told me ATI's drivers suck nuts, but with these reviews it's kind of confusing. Can anyone give me some advice if they have these card's and how the perform with FFXI and some of the new games as well?

Thanks much!

EDIT: For the comparison, will have to copy/paste into browser, Alla doesn't like it :(

Like Final Fantasy XI, the game specs will be extremely high for the time, but in about 5 years, an average machine can run it on max settings with little to no issues. Tanaka also expressed interest in making a benchmark program available.

I have both a 9800GTX and a 4870. The 4870's substantially faster and provides higher frame rates, particularly with high AA at higher resolutions. Either of them will play FFXI at maximum settings easily. There are issues with AMDs drivers/support from gaming companies. Some games crash at random settings, etc.
