Hi All;

Could use some help. I have a brand new system (1/09) Intel Dual Core E8400, NVida GTX 260, 2 mb ram. 500 mb hd, XP Pro svc pack 3, System ran great until I installed WAR. Loaded from just puchased dvd's..played game 3-4 hours. exited and turned off pc. Next day turned on pc.. System loads up to part of the desktop and freezes, with mouse hour glass running. Reboot, safe mode, system restore to a point before I installed War and the pc is fine. Removed War, reloaded etc..same issue--system freezes at the desktop. Removed War again. Now I loaded it to an external drive. Still same issue--even if I disconnect the external drive, the system locks up if anything from War is on the pc. Called EA support (20 minute wait) has no real answer--"try loading new drivers for video & sound" and call us back. Nvida is current as of 11/08.(I know there is a 1/09 driver that I have not downloaded yet).
Other drivers are current.

Any ideas would be appreciated

Thanks

Hmm, any chance that Warhammer also installs that EA Download Manager?

I installed SPORE and it installed EA Download Manager with it. My computer used to boot up in about 30-40 seconds and be done, after installing it took about one and a half to two minutes, and it is just because the EA Download Manager was booting up on startup.

Maybe that's causing a problem with the bootup on your system? After you install the game see if EA Download Manager is installed and disable the startup with windows option.

Just a thought.

Enter into safe mode and look into the logs.
