FFXI login problems for near 2 monthsFollow

Well i made a post here a month or two ago, about how i wasnt able to logon to playonline. Near 2 months later, and i havent been able to logon to it once. It's getting very frustrating now, and no one seems to be able to tell me what the problem is. I get pol 0006 friends list communication error, along with the odd 0011 network connection error.
Anyway im on Virginmedia, connection runs fine, everything works except ffxi which I've been trying on 360 and pc. POL support say virgin have changed something, virgin say nothing has changed. So the only thing i can figure is that virgin don't know what theyre talking about (Like most ISP CSRs). Which then means I need to wait 7 months for the contract to run out, or pay a £70 cancellation fee.
It's all very annoying, as I have been perfectly happy with viring so far, and i really didnt want to cancel, and even if i do, i'm not even 100% sure that the ISP is even the problem. I'd say 95%, but that leaves a 5% chance of me being down £70 for no reason. So yeah, im rambling on a bit. Just really want to get back in to the game, and if anyone can think of anything i might be missing, or knows anything about virginmedia problems, or knows anything at all that might help, please please help me out. near 2 months! If more Virgin members who are having trouble could chime in here, it would give more evidence pointing to Virgin being the problem.

thanks for posting guys, so far i dont know of anyone in the uk on virgin who is able to get online, so at least it seems to have routed out the problem. I tried logging on to pol in my parents house today and got on no problem. They are on talk talk, so yeah, Virgin have for some unknown reason decided to block pol =/ Well looks like a change of ISP's is in order, which is a massive hassle when i dont even have a BT phoneline in the house. Paying virgin cancellation fees, getting BT line, waiting 4 weeks for a MAC code...ah this sucks.

thanks for the update jidni, i'm having to connect through a proxy server now to play. It works fine but i don't like having to pay more money for the connection when i shouldn't have to. Glad someone was able to find out exactly what the issue was, hopefully they can get this sorted out soon!

It would have gone so much easier if Virgin hadn't lied in the first place, wouldn't it? It's pretty bad when they shut down a server, and on the same day users report issues, yet they claim nothing has changed, it can't be their fault.
