Hey guys

Kinda decided to give FFXI a try again, so I installed the game again on my new computer. Now I had all the expansions but WotG, but seem to have lost the Treasures of Aht Urhgan... Now its already been registered to my Content ID, it just isn't installed. No problem, I'll go without it until it pops up... Well turns out my character is in Whitegate... So I can't log in obviously. Crap.

I'm not sure what to do. The GMs can't move my character unless I'm logged in they say. And I've had little luck finding somewhere to get the EU version of the game off the net somewhere.

Any ideas?

Give your info to a friend, have him get you teleported out of whitegate, or find/buy the exspansion.

I had lost one of my expansions and decided to just buy the game again. You can get the game and all the expansions for about 30 dollars.

It's virtually impossible to find an copy of Treasures freestanding and I'm not sure if you can use an expansion that has already been purchased.

All he would need is the software itself, as they key he used is already tied to his account. At least that's how most normal MMOs work.

Yes but he would have all his disks again for 30$ which aint so bad. If he has no nearby friends that can lend him the disk. (as I wouldnt trust torrents for FFXI or any other MMO)

Would buying the NA copy of ToAU still work with my EU copies if I just used it for the install, and kept my ToAU EU Registeration code assigned to my ID?

(Edit: I Just thought hey I'll just borrow my best mates copy... Ugh, then remembered he played on 360. Doh)

Not sure whether any regional copy will work, but any EU copy at least should work, even if it's used. You've already used the code of your original copy to register yourself as having ToAU, so you won't have to again, even if you use someone else's copy.

Does anyone know if the trial clients offered on FilePlanet have expansion data on them? If so, you could just install one of those (I believe they have both US and EU clients) and be good to go. It might take some time to download, but it'd be free.

Bit Torrent. There is a DVD available for download with all the expansions on it, and it does not have to be the EU version even if the registration keys are EU (they're already registered).

You have already purchased and registered the software so there is nothing wrong with downloading another copy of the disc.
