Protection Error 103... What?Follow

I don't know what it is, why it happens, what it does or how to fix it. I get it before starting The Sims, Age of Mythology, and SimCity 4.

Basically, when I try to start any of those programs, I get a little error box with "Protection Error 103" in it. I hit OK, it pops up again. Hit OK again, it stops showing up but the program doesn't run. Since it's happening with just about everything made before '06, I'm willing it say it's a compatibility issue, but my computer can run Croc without any trouble, so I'm not really sure what the problem is.

And yes, it happens absolutely every time.
