Im having osme problems running FFXI on my laptop. I heard somewhere that it is because of Vista 64 and that it runs fine on 32 but cant find where i read that. Basically it starts lagging super bad in a slightly crowded area. Im on the Gateway 6860fx which has vista 64, geforce8800, 4gb ram, 2.0ghz cpu. plz help =] i spent too much $ on it for it not to do what i want lol.
I run Vista Ultimate and it plays FFXI just fine. Have you checked for a certified version of the drivers for your PC on the FFXI website?

no drivers available that i could find. I found some info saying that it doesnt run well on nvidia 8800 =/ need to find more info to confirm it though.
Are you using the 175.16 drivers?

Why are you running 64 in the first place? Its probably a driver problem as most people using vista run across the same graphic problems. Just keep trying drivers till you find one that works.
