Cant connect to Ventrilo serverFollow

OK here is the problem.

I have two routers when one is plugged in I can connect to the vent, when the other is plugged in I cant connect to the server.

I figured it must be an issue with the settings inside the router so I did a factory reset, backed up the settings from the vent connecting router and restored the settings file to the non vent connecting router. Everything coied across fine, firewall rules, passwords ect all ok. Still cant connect to the vent though.

Any ideas how to fix?

i SHOULD also point out that I have no problems connecting to other vents, just this particular one.

I guess I am a little confused on why you have two separate routers setup both as routers and why one isn't configured as a bridge/switch/hub etc.

That is something else, to the original question it sounds like you have a couple things possibly wrong.

You could have the wrong port number for the Vent server.

You could also have the wrong port forwards (If you are doing such) to an IP address or using DHCP instead of static with port forwards.

Seeing as how you said that you are able to connect to other servers just fine I would sooner say that you either have your configuration wrong or the server side is not configured correctly.

Another rather unlikely but also possible issue is that you are being filtered somewhere either locally (ISP) or remotely (A lot of regions are filtering now).

I dont have two routers set up, just one which I cant connect to the vent with and one with which I can.

I have the correct port number, i click connect when router 1 is plugged in and I can connect. I disconnect router 1 and plug in router 2 and I cant connect. Both routers are identical and have the same config file settings.

There is no port forwarding on either router and I can connect on one but not the other.

Dont think that there is any filtering going on as I can connect on one but not the other.

Besides the obvious, just use the router that works, why do you need both to work? Have you tried connecting to the vent server using another computer under the router that doesnt work??

That will tell you if it something with the router.
