Randomly freezingFollow

I think my video card is overheating.

About every 10 seconds, FFXI is freezing up entirely. After a few seconds it unfreezes, then refreezes again. Shutting down FFXI fixes it only temporarily.

I know I'm going to have to buy a new video card, but is there anything I can do to make it limp along another week until payday?

If you believe heat is the issue, take the side off the case, and have a fan blow directly on it. If that doesn't fix the issue, then heat most likely isn't your problem.

This morning my mouse cursor turned into a blue square. Some investigative digging, poking around, and finally adventures with a voltometer later, I determined it was fried, likely because I tried running it on a too weak power supply.

Goodbye, ************ HD 2600.

Hello, ******************* GeForce 9600 -- and a 650 watt supply to feed it.
