Sorry this isn't a PC problem, but I don't know where else to go for tech help online after my other sources haven't helped.

My friend has gotten a new Samsung T240HD Widescreen, 24 inches.
Her Xbox360 games play fine on the Samsung when using the HD cables. Actually, they play fine while using those red-blue-green HD cables but the little toggle switch on the 360's cables is still set on "TV" instead of "HDTV". In fact, so long as we use the red, blue, and green HD cables, the games look fine. However, when we use the normal AV wires for non-HD (the yellow video and red and white audio cables) and put them in the Samsung T240, the games (the system's stuff itself as well) are all in black-&-white. Regardless of whether the toggle switch is in HD or TV, so long as we use the red, yellow, and white cables, it will be in black-&-white.

We can get around this problem easily with Xbox games by always using the HD wires.

The problem is that she also plays PS2 and doesn't want to shell out the money for the PS3. And the PS2 games also result in black-&-white, while there are no HD wires that we have for the PS2.

Does anyone here know how to help? Or does she either need an HD Converter box for the PS2 to go through? Or is she simply unable to play her PS2 games in color until she gets a PS3?

^This.

First, however, go purchase the composite video cable for the PS2. It uses the red-green-blue cable system. Then, in the PS2 setup, make sure you have it set to composite mode (Y Cb/Pb Cr/Pr) from RGB mode.

EDIT: lol, I just noticed that this post is like a month old.
