Anyone experience the mouse not being able to click links where they are, and instead you have to hover slightly above or below the link/icon you want to click? On some forums I read that it may be a driver issue with certain mice, but the mouse I'm using is the one that came with the rig. I've done all the checking and all of the drivers are updated to the most recent. Sometimes it works fine, then 2 seconds later it has to find the 'hotspot' again. Not so annoying on the web when browsing, but pretty annoying in games when you have 5 hotbars of spells/clickies and you cant click on the one you want to.

I dont really have one that isn't being used by something. The only 'spare' mouse I have is the wireless which I like to keep with the laptop to use instead of the touchpad. Kind of hoping someone may have a similar issue and a fix for it before I decide to rob myself of the pleasure of having a scroll mouse for use on here.

If I had the option to get the system without Vista I would have. I'll keep it on for as long as the warranty lasts though.

Today it's making me a liar though. Havent had any mouse trouble yet. But now after I post this I probably will.

I've never experienced it myself but...

I found that the following worked for me:
Go to Mouse Properties
UNCHECK - Enhance Pointer Precision (under Motion block)
UNCHECK - Automatically move pointer to ... (Under snap to Block)

Your computer isn't a Dell, is it? I did some (very) quick googling and this issue looked to be exclusive to Dell machines with old Radeon cards. It wouldn't surprise me though, I heard Dell used to package Vista with bloatware it wasn't even compatible with during the early days...

Edit: Updating video card drivers might helps also... who knows.

Edit 2: Check the warranty with the company you bought the laptop from they might support letting customers install new operating systems (Ubuntu... or XP). Beware though, some companies support this but not all laptops today have XP drivers! Some people have gotten confirmation, uninstalled Vista, installed XP, then found out that their laptop hardware does not support XP for wireless networking! I'd highly suggest giving Vista at least a month though, I've been on it for eight without complaints and consider it a nice OS.
