Hey all, I've been playing WoW for a while now on dial-up (I know, not the best way to play) but it's been good for me for all those times. Now I'm getting Wildblue satellite internet. I live in upstate New York and my friends have been telling me that it's acually a down grade from dial-up and goes really slow. Now is there anyone who uses that and acually gets good latency and such from playing and experiences less lag?

Thanks

Hello matttylerspencenate,

The major problem with satellite internet is that you get a slower upload speed and latencies are high in general. While someone who has actually used one of these for awhile may be able to tell you more about them, I can say that a fast dial-up modem may indeed be better in some MMO situations due to potentially faster latencies.

Satelitte is the suck. Its pretty much worse then a 36k dial up modem for playing games.
