Anyone familiar with macs ever see something like this happen:

I have no idea what is causing it, but my screen will go apesh*t. I have to wait a good 5 minutes before it will just decide to go away. This happens both on the laptop monitor and the external monitor.

Not a mac "guy", but I am a IT "guy".

My opinion is that either your graphics card is dieing (could be getting to hot or something).

Or

If it only does it on certain programs and not all the time then you have a corrupted file somewhere.

To help solve the problem give some more info.

How often does it do it?
What programs are up when it does it?
How long has it been running?

This.

If it's still under warranty, call Apple. They're pretty good about fixing/sending people brand new laptops.

Straight. **** off and let me post. It's not true, it's all in good fun. Now go away.

That is what I was afraid of.

I believe it is still under Applecare, so I will try to take it in this weekend.

Varies. Some times it will only happen once and I will be fine for weeks, other times it will happen on and off for hours
Varies. I have had it happen right on start-up and when multiple apps are open
The system, some times it will be up for weeks and other times it will only be on for minutes before it happens.

I have had other issues with the video card, but the "genius" ran all of the Apple diagnostics and told me there was no issue. This was just when I was getting terrible video lag, and the same "genius" watched the issue, but since the tests came back clean he said there was nothing that could be done.

In case anyone was wondering, I am sitting in the Apple store right now, waiting for my hard drive to back up.

The second they saw the screen shot, I was told my MoBo needed to be replaced (since it is a laptop, the video and all in integrated w/ the motherboard).

This is the second time with this machine my motherboard has needed replacing. Hopefully they fixed whatever issue this is when they rolled the Core 2 duo MPB (2 days after I bought my MPB. Granted I wasn't able to exchange it for the new model...)

Well at least it isnt costing you anything. It could be worse your warranty could be up and then you would be left with a glitchy computer.
