This is the strangest thing ever happened to me and none of my friends could help me and I am quite desperate now ; ;

The other day I tried to log in with my japanese PS2 into FFXI, but half way during the login process, it stopped, showing me the message that I should check my network settings, cables ecc.

Of course this was strange since nothing was changed in the settings in the meantime, so my first step was to call up my internet provider, but he told me, the broadband modem I was using is working fine and that there where no problems from their side.

So basically I tried everything from then...

* setting IP adress my provider gave me
* setting DNS adress my provider gave me
* checking that the modem would accept the PS2's MAC adress
* both Provider and modem are 100% ok

still nothing is working...

Did Sony do something to prevent online usage of a japanese console outside of Japan?

I havent been online now for two weeks and i am quite desperate now... maybe someone can help me.

Thanks for reading this post

*Are you running it thru a router?
*Have you confirmed your adapter hasn't gone bad by using another adapter or using another online game?

I have a feeling your adapter probably died on you in which case you might have to replace it. I would see if a friend has one which you can test with or if you have another game which offers "free" online play then try that.
