Every since the latest 2 patches, I have experienced a complete comp freeze while in game. To the point that I have to shut down power on my system. The lag in game is at random times but it seems to happen, when there is alot of activity on screen, flashing etc. I have a pretty stable DSL connection and running a 2 1/2 yr old upgraded Dell. Someone in game said it was a FPS problem, is there something I can adjust in my vidoe card or game settings? This freezing is getting me killed!

System specs
Dell Dim 4600
2.8gh P4
1.5gb ram
Geforce 6600 256mb
40Gb HD x2 (no raid set up)

I'm also looking to build a new comp in the next couple months home use as well as gaming, WOW and The Sims 2. Think I wanna go AMD X2 3800 or 4400 because of larger cache, but what else? Monitor, mouse, video card? I want to put about $1500 into it.

Thanks everyone!

I experienced exactly the same thing. Though I did not have any lag problems before, the game sometimes just seems to freeze. I can't move or anything, I get like 1 frame in 10 seconds! It's really, really weird. I had this 2 times already since last patch, and it happened right after I used Hearthstone. I didn't have any loading problems or anything. I had no other choice than just reset my computer.

I have the same problem, my PC just freezes at random times no matter where i'm doing. I could be sitting afk on IF or in a bg, it just freezes turns my monitor off and the sounds freezes, thus forcing me to shut it down manually...So i guess i'm not alone on this matter.

I have been reading, and it might b a video card driver issue, try rolling back to some older drivers for your card and see if that helps.

You know what Garly, it may be something a tad simpler.

Back when I played FFXI, my computer would freeze halfway thru a rainstorm in La Theine~ The weather effects had a destructive reaction to my computer. And would result in a freeze every time.

I couldn't figure it out for a few weeks then one day in Rolanberry I started lagging like crazy when it was snowing, so a friend told me to turn weather off and whala! fixed.

Default setting for weather effects is on in WoW, try reducing your screen settings a bit.

Otherwise, wait a week, the game is having graphical issues because of the latest few patches.

I had a similar problem...my problem turned out to be leaving a IE window to do item searches while playing. Once I stopped leaving another window open I stopped having the freezes. So now I just shut everything else down and when I do bring up IE, I shut it down immediately when I am done.

My PC has remained stable, but after a few minutes of playin during the patch, it seems the game itself crashes. I can still move around, but I'm unable to interact with the environment. It mostly happens after I summon my mount or if I log back in and I'm already on my mount, it'll occur after dismissing the mount. It also locks up after getting on a griffen. If I stay away from the mounts, I can play as long as 5 minutes before the game crashes again.

Anyone else running into any problems like this? I've deleted the WTF and interface folders like I was told and I still have this problem. It's driving me nuts, expecially since their tech support is closed.b
