Warcraft-won't launch from desktopFollow

Problem: World of Warcraft refuses launch from the desktop icon. Double clicking gets you this message - "The procedure entry point WaitForSingleObjectCExCreateEventW could not be located in the dynamic link library KERNEL32.dll"

I have removed all addons (that I just updated). no good.

Tried running the Blizzard repair utility and get another error. "This version of blizzard repair does not support your World of Warcraft version 2.0.1.6180 English(United States)" I assume that when Blizzard put the new patch in they didn't update the repair tool to go with the new game version. Perhaps that comes later.

Any ideas on how to make the launcher work again?

If WoW is the only thing that doesn't work and the repair utility isn't helping you might have to delete wow and reinstall.

If other programs start doing it you might have corruption in your windows system files.
try opening a command prompt and typing
sfc /scannow

or google "The procedure entry point" " could not be located in the dynamic link library KERNEL32.dll" to see if you can find related problems.

Nothing else was affected, so I did the uninstall/re-install. That seems to have worked. Thank you for the assistance =)

[Thank goodness I have a high speed connection now. The download time on 56k (when I first bought the game) was mind boggling.]
