everything else but pictureFollow

I've tried the basic troubleshooting such as, checking system requirements, unistalling and reinstalling the game plus all of the expansion packs. I am just out of ideas, and I need some help if anybody can spare it.

My problem.

I go through the whole Play Online routine and make my way to the FFXI page. Click the play button, and it starts. The opening movie plays and all that jazz, i go through all the windows that pop up next. Okay, I get to the title page. it's loaded, it shows, it plays, etc. Then i go to create a character. I wait a little, music starts, but no picture. Now, i can select options on the page (with that niffty click sound) and what not, everything is responsive. But, since i can't see, i feel stuck. SO, i try going back to the main page. But after visiting the character select screen even the main title screen won't load. Plays music and what not, just won't load the picture, even though it loaded it before.

I'm am utterly confused and need help. I've started this game to stay in contact with my old friends who I had to move away from, so, if you all could, try and shed some light on my situation. Thanks to you all.
