Trojan HelpFollow

Ok, tech support forums don't work on REAL websites made for tech support so I figure you guys could help me out. I have a Trojan on my computer. And I can't get rid of it. Norton Antivirus can't do anything with it. So what I normally do is locate the file on my computer (Usually in C:/windows/system32) and go into Safe mode, remove the file, problem solved. But the problem is is that there is no file to be found. It gives me the directory, but when I go to find it, it isn't there. Find files and folders can't find it. And when I scan System 32 for viruses, none pop up. But when I open internet explorer, it says there's a trojan in that folder...

Some viruses these days can stealth themselves to be difficult to locate and hide from Norton. Deleting them however still works. The fix is to just go to command prompt, navigate to the directory that houses the bad file, and type in the dos delete command to get rid of it as if it were there, even though you cannot see it. Doing so will delete the file with no problems. Just remember if the file name is over 8 characters long it is going to crop it to the short form. i.e. filename something.txt would turn into someth~1.txt

del c:\folder\filename.ext

except the path would be whatever the file you want to delete is at.

Lol alright, this is a tricky one. when trying to delete it, it says that it's not accessible. Which made me think "Hey, I'll kill your *** in Safe mode". So I go to safe mode. Type in del C:\windows\system32\resfn.dll ... I get "File not found" . And no matter how hard I try, I can't find the file. (It's not seen in normal mode, and it just doesn't exist in safe mode)
