Changing the volume of WAV filesFollow

I'm working with some WAV files I want to eventually import into FFXI, but they're giving me some trouble.. I've got various files all at different volumes, and I want to change them.. I know it can be done with MP3s, but in order to do that I have to convert them into MP3, then change the volume, then convert BACK into WAV, and THEN the volume settings from the MP3 don't even stick.

So, I need a program designed to change the volume of WAV files, so I can make these sounds louder.. I'd love to be able to set the volume they all go to, because some are perfect, and I want them all to be that "perfect" setting, whether it's the "normal" WAV volume or not.

Any help is greatly appreciated!

Start Menu >> Run >> type "Sndrec32.exe"

File >> Open >> select .wav file

Effects >> "Increase Volume" or "Decrease Volume"

File >> Save

There's software out there that will do a much better job, without distorting sound quality, but this is the quick and dirty solution.
