Textures Missing, In Game Graphics IssueFollow

Hey,

Here's the interesting problem I'm having.

I think that says it all. I'm using a GeForce FX 5600 - 256 MB video card, the only ever time I've had this problem was when I tried to run Tribes 2 on a 16 mb graphics system.

This graphic card should be able to run FFXI on the highest of settings, and it has, for about 1 month but over the past couple days I've noticed a small gray fog around my screen every once in awhile, and now I walked into Bastok Markets and saw THAT.

The settings I'm currently using are:

- Enabled MIP Mapping
- Overlay Graphics Resolution 800x600
- Background Resolution 512x512
- Texture Compression High
- On-Screen Maps Compressed
- Bump Mapping Enabled
- Environment Animation Smooth

I have weather effects enabled in the game too.

I'm using the latest version of DirectX, and I updated to the latest Nvidia drivers recently, and then again today when I saw this (no go).

If anyone has a solution, I'd be very appreciative.

I had installed the newest NVidia driver, yet I had the problem. Somehow I ended up installing the very same driver (from the same install file) a second time and my problem went away. I wish I had some idea what had caused or corrected it, but I'm happy now! Hopefully your problem can be solved soon too, mdurrant!

Turn off texture compression.
