Just so you know have a good 21'' CTX monitor. I've always been running my computer on an 800x600 display and have tried increasing the resolution, but when I do, everything becomes smaller and becomes a strain on my eyes after a while. Is there any way of increasing the screen resolution without making things go tiny?

That's what increasing the resolution does. It makes more pixels appear in the same place.
