Locking up after patch loadsFollow

Ever since the DX 9 upgrade my second computer hasnt been able to log into EQ. Gets as far as runing the patcher and down loading updates but then goes to black screen and freezes after you hit play. From here you need to reboot.

Ive tried to do the usual stuff, downloaded and installed DX9, new drivers for the video card (Gforce2 64k), downloaded all microst updates, cleaned out the old config files and folders that they recommend on the Sony site...still no joy.

The comp is a few years old 1.3Mhz AMD, but has 512 Ram running on Windows 2000.

Wondered about motherboard drivers..but dont have a clue what it is on this comp/ how to find out/ where to sort drivers for that...Also when testing 3d Direct X after running a Diagdx Im freezing, but Ive downloaded DX 9 two times and reinstalled 4-5 and still get same result. Basically lost - appreciate any thoughts. Thanks
