Connecting to DAoC since 1.67 using tunnelFollow

#1 Mar 30 2004 at 2:11 AM Rating: Decent
Lo!
I am ... was playing DAoC at my university using cygwin/bash/ssh + SocksCap2 since the most of ports are forbidden here. Unfortunately, since 1.67 I run the game, update, log in and then instead of seeing game loading screen game simply closes itself. Probably there is some check whether DAoC is not run through some proxy software to prevent radar working (at least I read it somewhere.)
Do you know about any way how to get DAoC back running? Asking my uni for ports resulted in being threated by firing off the school so that is no way. Considering tunneling/hacking firewall, there is no problem since the most of students do so and nobody cares.

Please help,

It's doable, but you really need to know what you are doing, and if the net admins catch you, you will probably get in trouble. I'll see if I cna't dig up the port settings for you to try though.

Well, I study software development, so I should be able to do it. Only trouble is I really don't know much hacking stuff. It took me almost 24 hours in line to get through firewall first time when I was getting through with older versions of DAoC. Was kinda hard since I did not know a thing about tunneling, local network etc. but I handled it. But that time I knew what I needed. Now I do not so I am doomed without help.

So, thank you very much for looking on it.

Any progress in searching for solution, Kao? I have discovered it's internal DAoC check for presence of socksCap like software that blocks it running (because of so called radar tool)
