I am getting the FFXI-4001 error, despite the fact that I have disabled all my anti-virus, and firewall protection(which if you ask me is COMPLETLY absurd since I have been able to run EQ, SWG, and many other gmaes on-line with everything enabled) yet I still get the 4001 error. I have checked my router to see if it blocks any ports, and I see none blocked so unless there is a built in Win2K firewall that comes pre-enabled, I am stumped, I have a bit of networking experience under my belt so I am really frustrated.

There is a new virus out that uses UDP port 4000 and 4001 as an infection vector. Some ISP's are blocking those ports. I don't know if the error code is tied to the UDP port assignment number, but it might be worth looking into.
