People use Stardiver in Abyssea?

Instead of being an obxnoxious ass, why dont you try responding with something helpful Fyn. Sheesh, no wonder this site is dead

Anyways, to the OP, as you know Stardiver is a Str mod, 4 hit WS. Atma that have +str and +DA or +TA will be helpful in upping the damage.

VV is a good atma to start with, +50 str, +10% DA and +2 TP regain is tough to beat

If you cant get a group to help you farm the NM you can also use the Spellsword Atma from finishing the TOAU storyline, assuming you have that done. It gives +20 Str.

While Fyn's approach to it was a bit blunt, the reason that he brought that up is a valid one. Darrt, I ask that you not use that kind of language, since even though Fyn may have been a bit blunt, your reaction to it was in the wrong.

In Abyssea, weaponskills that deal critical damage are almost universally better than ones that don't given the Atmas that are available. While you may not have Drakesbane for various reasons, Dragoon still gets a decently powerful crit weaponskill in the form of Skewer, which given the right Atmas, will end up doing more than what Stardiver would be able to dish out in most situations.

That being said, what I would personally recommend for Stardiver would be Atma of the Voracious Violet, Atma of Apocalypse/Atma of the Alpha and Omega (I'd recommend AoA though), and Atma of the Smiting Blow.

VV for the +STR, the DA, and the Regain (the first two primarily)
AoA for the Triple Attack
Smiting Blow for the TP bonus and weaponskill accuracy (Stardiver's damage varies with TP, so that's going to increase the damage a fair amount)

Stardiver will do a decent amount of damage in Abyssea with the proper Atmas and will come close to things like Skewer and Drakesbane with crit atmas on, but in most situations those two will pull ahead.

Because to me being helpful = not being an automatic advocate of inferior ways of play

Honestly, Stardiver probably could have slightly better potential damage than Drakesbane even in Abyssea (assuming of course, no Ryunohige) because it's just that badass of a WS. However, this is going to come at the cost of absolutely murdering your DoT. I cannot see how this would ever be worthwhile; hence, my question.

If anything, this would be a slightly more reasonable topic to have been made if it came from a SAM. But since it's not the SAM forums...

LMAO. I know that in abyssea drakesbane is > then stardiver. That wasn't my question though. I did not ask what WS was better then the other. I have RR, VV and Apoc for Drakes.

Now, back to the question I had, if you are using stardiver for some reason, Idc what the reason is, then what atmas do you use.

Thanks Vlorsutes for the response.

Dark/Earth/Lightsday, Echoes/VV/Apoc. 6k+ WS, some triple attack to feed it, run a decent hitbuild.

Then it might be worthwhile to Stardiver in Abyssea, but only on those Echoes active days.

Rated the OPs "mysteriously nuked post" back up, as he has done nothing wrong and you forum lifers are clearly a bunch of dry-dicked twerps.

Just to let you know why it was "mysteriously nuked", the user's Karma level (from ratings on posts several years ago) is at a point where his posts at the moment will start out as a low Default. Unfortunately, due to this, a single rate down (which is what happened), caused him to go sub-default. His post wasn't actually nuked, just sub-defaulted from the one rate down. It wasn't a mass collection of people that swooped down and karma bombed his post or anything.

I still haven't ever seen the fantastic results from Echoes on the multihit merit WS as claimed... I've tried suggesting it to friends on several occasions and their average WS damage doesn't seem any different than it would be if they were substituting Razed Ruins (which is typically useless for the WS for anything but the acc from DEX since the merit WS don't crit) or something instead. And yes, I know the days were correct. Not sure what gives, but no one I've recommended it to has taken a liking to it >_>

Ah yeah. That. My bad lol

/internethero mode off

On topic, i was using would be king atma to help with ws points for drakes and found the tp bonus to make a pretty noticeable difference. Am guessing this is due to how the ftp is applied to all hits on stardiver.
