Question about chigoes and the new jumpsFollow

I was in hiatus for a while so I'm not sure if this is a known thing or just something that went wonky with my connection.

Yesterday, I was doing the 497? polearm trial on sapplings outside Nashmau and got aggroed by a chigoe. No problem simply jump on him right? Well for some reason Spirit jump and Soul Jump did not one shot kill the chigoe. I tried on two different chigoes and saw a damage indication which means I didn't miss but the bloody thing was still jumping around.

I was wondering if anyone noticed the same because from what I remember it was a one shot kill with Jump and High Jump. Or do the new jumps simply not count as a JA and something in relation to chigoes.

Thanks in advance!

SE got lazy and forgot to give the new jumps that "instakill chigoes" property, probably.

I remember toying around on DNC fairly recently, and I noticed that although the three old Steps (Quickstep, Box Step, and Stutter Step) would all 1-shot chigoes, the new Step (Feather Step) would not.

I doubt this was intended, but it is pretty obscure, so if enough people complain about it, I imagine they'd fix this.

Interesting to know it's not just a problem with jumps, I'll make use of that shiny new ffxi forum and make a post to the dev team about it. :)

They may not work on Chigoes, but they might work on physical Immune mobs. I was able to hurt/hit the NM eye Arimaspi in Abyssea - Konschtat. Idk if it's just cause they allowed me to actually connect on him that I was able to do damage(all melee hits will miss) Or that it actually bypasses physical Immunity though.

Melee hits miss him because he's flying, like a wyrm. You can jump flying mobs because it ignores height.

Ah ok, thanks, I only recently came back and I was just told he was immune. I never had tried swinging at a wyrm when it was flying, so I didn't realize that was the msg you get.

Fun story though, things that are immune to attacks seem to not be for the first hit. I've jump pulled the magic only gigas in apollyon and did damage.

Ya, I always had people use something hard hitting to pull on those gigas, like highest Tier magic for magic immune, barrage for rng immmune, Whenever I used to lead runs years ago
