Here's my current setup. Please give constructive feedback and reason for any changes, Thank You Very Much in Advance

TP setup
Main Masamune
Sub: Pole grip
Ammo: Thew Bomblet
Head: Unaki Kabuto +2
Neck: Unkai Nodowa
Ear1: Brutal Earring
Ear2: Bushinomimi
Body: Unkai Domaru +2
Hands: Hachiman Kote
Ring1: Rajas Ring
Ring2: Keen Ring
Waist: Bullwhip Belt
Back: Atheling Mantle\
Legs Unkai Haidate +2
Feet: Ace's Leggings

This gives me 5hit build and once I get Goading belt I will replace Hands for some form of Haste

WS setup
Main Masamune
Sub: Pole grip
Ammo: Thew Bomblet
Head: Twilight Helm
Neck: Snow Gorget
Ear1: Brutal Earring
Ear2: Centaurus Earring
Body: Byrnie +1
Hands: Unkai Kote +2
Ring1: Rajas Ring
Ring2: Vulcan's Ring
Waist: Angunius Belt
Back: Atheling Mantle (I have Unkai mantle and waiting for update to maybe tp in it and ws in atheling)
Legs Unkai Haidate +2
Feet: Unkai Sune_Ate +2

I have been debating on rings and earrings and these are my favs so far. I'm still waiting to either play around or hear that the Demonry Ring is worth it.

If you can snag it, the new body piece from the Voidwatch NM Voidwrought might be better for Fudo over. Losing a bit of attack over the Byrnie +1, but considering that you're gaining 9 STR in the process, at least in some situations it should prove better than the Byrnie +1, if not most. Also, you'd likely be better off WSing in the Unkai Sugemino and just TPing in Atheling, since although Fudo is boosted quite a bit by attack, you have to remember that it still has a very high STR mod, which makes pieces like the Unkai Sugemino too good to pass up.

Pretty much set, only minor improvments if any and they wont be noticable in the grand scheme of things with that gear set.

Heafoc mitts come to mind. Easy T3 VNM in La theine drops them which im sure yourwell aware lol. The only thingthat will change things with that setup is atma choice (which your limited to anyway with masa as RR is a must). Looks like you'll need to find another job to max out :)

Also what NM did you use for +2 body - I got a friend that needs that for his masa sam, I was thinking we'd just brew the Khim a few times, we all need the +2 sam body tbf, and we have very little to spend our brews on.

Maybe an Epona's for TP/WS too should max you out right now. Not looking forward to post-abys when drop rates will prob go down, and gear will be harderto get again.

Right now I TP in Atheling and WS in Unkai, but that could change with the Hasso/Zanshin tweak.

I got 8/9 of mine from the Khimara NM cause someone in my LS was making Kannagi 90. I got the other one from Fuath. Fuath is really easy to duo as THF and WHM, so if you can bring some people to proc grellow you could handle it without brews.

Epona's, unfortunately, is not SAM equippable. We don't really have a super awesome second ring for TP right now.

I have the Heafoc gloves, but I hate all that negative stats, so I'll try it out. I also started with tp in Atheling and ws in Unkai and waiting for the update as well. As far as which mob I used for body +2 items, I did Orthus and Hedjedjet, but Hedjedjet was when my bst had 100% pdt, not sure if can be done now without a ton of dawn mulsum. Most of my upper tier things I either did with BST or I helped friends go through abyssea wins and Catarae. Thanks for the input guys much appreciated

A 6hit with a sword strap and capped haste will outdue a 5hit. You are sacraficing way too much haste to keep that 5hit.

The ideal Masa TP build is

Masa/sword//threw
zelus/justice/cent/brutal
juogi+1/dusk+1/raja/mars
atheling/bullwhip/af3/aces

The standard Masa TP build is

Masa/Rose//white tath
Af3/unkai/cent/brutal
af3/dusk+1/raja/hoard
tactical/bullwhip/af3/aces

The future TP build

Masa/sword//threw
af3/unkai/unkai/wyvern
Af3/dusk+1/unkai/mars
Unkai/goading/af3/aces

I think your over estimating the benefit of haste, considering most DD's now are BRD-less. For Masa, I'm going with optimal 6-Hit build 25% haste, VS 20% 5HIT build.

Just putting it simply, (as its much easier to read without doing the precice /1024 haste values)

If in your 6HIT build you have capped haste gear + haste spell + hasso your swinging at 52.5% haste.
That means your delay is 437*0.475 = 207.6 delay. (So thats the capped haste Zelus crown build?)

If you have 20% haste 5HIT with Hasso and Haste spell your swinging at 47.5% haste.
That means your delay is 437*0.525 = 229.4 delay.

The differencing haste values gives the 6HIT from haste alone a dmg increase of 10.5%

Going from a 6HIT to a 5HIT potentially is a 20% DMG increase. Double and Triple attack favour the lower hit build more aswell in getting to 100% TP, and any additional multi-hits over 100% TP grant more fTP than the 6HIT does.

Even taking into account 10.5% faster hits maximising the double dmg, I doubt that pulls the 6HIT evens with the 5HIT. If it does, then its wipe-out - chose to have a slightly higher haste 6HIT build, or stop living in the past and enjoy your equally as good if not better 5HIT.

Its been mathed and parsed. Was not my discovery btw. You also didn't account for the addition DA and attack in the build.

Its also 229 vs 201 you forgot sword.

There is also a 2 second WS delay which favors the 6hit and ODD which favors the addition att/da from the 6hit.

I have a perfect 5hit on my SAM and my perfect 6hit is only missing Juogi+1 because someone bought the one I made from my Bazaar for 40mil :P.

I presume the math and parses come from BG - do you mind posting a link of it so we can draw some conclusions from it.

I know it was very brief calculation taking very little into account, but it seems to me 6HIT has some catching up to do. Juogi+1 is more or less un-obtainable for over 99% of SAM's (although CG on your 40M sale), not because of the gil, but due to the mostly none-existance of the item.

I'm not sure whether 2-sec ws delay benefits either setup more, it still means 5HIT will WS more, and if we think outside of abyssea, where RR won't be buffing the Occ-2x hits, the dmg from the extra hits will become a much smaller benefit. Due to how Fudo mechanics work, the Masa's dmg will also be much more skewed to ws. Also, inside abyssea depending on your pty setups, TP feed can be an issue, so 5-HIT SAM will be more helpful then 6HIT.

Alot of ifs & buts & situation specific, i'd like us to see the data though.

I just got back to the game about 2 weeks ago. Making pretty good progress. I have a few questions though. As I Don't have my masume yet I am still dealing with Y/G/K. As far as ws gear goes what are the best options for the back, waist and neck?

I am thinking Unkai back, element gorget for neck but am mostly concerned about the waist pieces. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks.
