Just looking for some idea's off you guy's altho seems sam forum aint as busy a sit use to be.
Basically since y/g/k and co are obsolete i been toying with Jinpu builds i been using VV/Apoc/Ultimate(for mattkB), gear been using mix of strng/attk/MATB. Idea came from recent Shinryu brews doing 30k jinpus.
Been getting on average 2-3k 4+ DA's 5k+ TA's.
and inb4 FUDO im working on var's for my mnk first.
Anyway just looking for some thought's feed back on do you use this type of setup/WS and what do you gear/atma/reuturns you get etc.

I tried out the same thing, just didn't use Apoc (don't have it), but instead I used Baying Moon (30 MAB). I got similar looking numbers to what you report. I honestly wasn't that impressed. When I use VV/SB/GC I get similar type numbers with my YGK.
You could try swapping ultimate for Ascending one and see what difference in Jinpu dmg it makes - You could also use the 10% haste in one way or another aswell in TP setup, which Ultimate doesn't do anything for. If thir's no positve noticable difference, then swap Ultimate for something like SB or GC.

Do you have atmas of the gales it's wind attack +40 would seem very nice.

Overlooked that atma of first silly really cause it was very easy to solo. Do you know if wind attk say 40 would work the same as a regular mattk 40, or if it enhances more becuase its specifically wind ?

I've always thought the elemental attack bonus atmas were a straight multiplier similar to staves(which oddly multiplies with elemental staves, but only adds to the magian staves). so wind attack +40 would have been +40% dmg.

A quick scan of the BLM forums reveals my misunderstanding. Specific element attack bonuses are multiplicative with MAB, and not additive. Don't know why I expected that to not be the case, but my apologies for any confusion my previous posts caused.

Gales for sure, but the other two could be any mix of
VV(heard STR still has a large impact)

What does 'WIND+: Superior' and Bennu's Atma of the Ascending one do? I presumed that was +dmg, I did 20 ws's using VV/ascending one/SB, can't be bothered to post them if the atma isnt +wind dmg.

Even if it does, I presume the best atma's would be VV/Alpha/Gales. Even then, the ws's need to be a few hundred dmg higher than the average gekko/kasha to warrant using Gales over another atma that will boost melee dmg some. I can already push YGK pretty high. Just a shame I don't get to use SAM more then i'd like, its still a DD power house with the right gear/atma's, its just no tank and imo got lost behind in early abys.
My SAM gains TP faster than ever and ws's in the 1.5K-4K range. Just becasue its not sitting in top place anymore nor have crit ws (which tbh, out of all the melee jobs SAM needs a crit ws the least), doesn't mean its not a good DD. I personally think main problem SAM has in abyssea is that its not needed for proc's other than lolblu and its a terrible tank in comparison to others. During RED!! I easily deal more dmg then any other DD with 2H, and in small group stuff, its impossible for the mnk or nin to take hate back on standard mobs once I ws.

Wouldn't Ultimate(MAB+50) help more than VV?

The second hit mirrors the first for Jinpu, or so I've heard (odd rumor but it is a physical + magical hit). focusing on just the second hit doesn't seem to produce highest results but it's still pretty random depending on DA/TAs imo.

I can't really see how. Jinpu is still 40% STR mod, and VV benefits TP gain & dmg aswell.
If all u need is 'max dmg ws' for zerg or something then they'd need to be compared but even then im not sure Ultimate would win as there is the physical aspect to Jinpu.
