I've seen some Sam hit Gekko for 1k worth of Dmg....... What i wanna know is that due to Great Katana Skill or just pure STR.

Even though i wanna know which is the benefits of both?

I'm trying to get my Sam up there, so I've been getting my Str gear, so is that wrong?

1k WSs are usually from holding TP or getting a Double Attack proc. Don't expect to be tossing them around all the time.

That being said, you should gear your WSs (not TPing) for all STR. No accuracy, no other stats, and attack isn't tough to cap out on in exp/merit parties.

keep piling on the STR for WS. a combination of things gets people's WSs to be very high:

a) TP. some WS get a big damage bonus from TP, and yuki/gekko/kasha are prime examples. this is (the only) reason hagun is good. a WS at 200%TP does 26%~ more damage than a WS at 100%TP. since you get the most overall damage by always WSing at 100%TP, hagun users generally WS higher than other people. also, if you see a huge WS, it may be a 300%TP WS, which does 60% more damage than a 100%TP WS.

b) at higher levels, you get access to a ton more STR gear.

c) overwhelm. fully merited overwhelm can raise WS damage by 19%.

d) double attack. for overall damage, double attack is actually not very good for gekko. however, it does allow you to spike some very high WS. i think my highest WS in merits was something like 1800, but i don't record/remember such things. however, my average WS damage would always be 1000 or below.

notably, a SAMs average WS damage *shouldn't* be above 1000 with great katana. if it is, it usually means the SAM is holding TP too long. there may be exceptions, but in general it should be lower.
