This whole thread is upsetting to read. I usually think of the FFXI community as a whole a good one. Better than any other I've been a part of. But reading all of these negative and spiteful replies makes every single one o fyou come off as elitist jerks.
Instead of knocking this individual down why wouldn't you help him improve himself? You're just pointing and laughing here.
No one came into this game knowing it all. We all had to learn one way or another and it was either through the helpful experience of other players or just personal failure. No matter how ridiculous this person may seem to you with his set up and his gear, you could have taken a more positive and TACTFUL role by offering friendly advice to him, REGARDLESS of his job level.
I'm so disappointed right now. I go on deployment to Iraq for the last year and half and I come back and read stuff like this. I just hit 75 on my first job (Samurai) and I'm still learning about gear builds (TP, WS, Haste, etc etc). I'm honestly clueless. I'm just thankful I've run into some very helpful people along the way who offer useful advice and don't ridicule me the way all of you have done to this person.
This is a low point in my most humble opinion for this community.
