6 hit or haste?Follow

just got 5/5 STP merits and now i have a question..

should i sacrifice haste for a 6 hit build?

i dont have my raja's yet so my 6 hit would have to come from hachiman hands+feet meaning i would be giving up 6% haste.

it would only be a temporary sacrifice that i could correct once i get my raja's and/or askar body.. but what do you guys think?

this, + rajas and dusk hands once you get it. note, not rajas or askar body, but rajas.

Going from 7hit to a 6hit is approx a 15% reduction in time between weaponskills.

That kind of figure assumes you're WSing immediately upon 100 TP every time, and never get DA's on your last hit. I've done analog parsing of a 6 hit on DRG/SAM and the effectiveness during a merit party is reduced by job abilities, DA rate, mob health, etc. It would be more effective on HNMs or campaigns where you're not running out of mob HP to bite into.

If you're "running out of mob HP to bite into" in a merit PT either you or your puller is not doing their job. If a SAM is not WSing as soon as they can (with very little exception), they are not doing their job. Also, our DA rate is pretty low making the "DA on last hit" a minimal change to WS rate at worst.

i'm up and coming (66 atm) and wondering if i should go for a 6 hit at 70 (rose,hachi hands+feet,shinimusha legs, maybe attila's+ecphoria instead of rose) or stick w/ fuma, pole grip, okote, rk breeches. same thing for 72 when i can use dusk and 75 when turban becomes available. note that i have no rajas or b.haidate. i would infer that i should most definitely be going for a 6 hit, but i'm not certain what is considered giving up too much.

Would probably be best to go with the 6hit, especially since you'll have so little haste anyway.
