Nyzul Build Follow

I wasn't sure if i should post this in Endgame or this forum so here goes. if it is in the wrong forum then i apologies

I'm part of a SP that is taking part of Nyzul once a week,i have been thinking alot about my build for this event. What i am trying to do is make a competent build which can 1) benefit the party as whole and 2) if the s**t hits the fan can solo the mob quickly. (if possible)

I intend to go Sam/Nin for several reasons Shadows for Spell absorbtion and mob tp moves, snk and invis cheaper to use etc

My gear i have follows and granted i need to do a lot of work to improve this

Weapon: Windslicer / Onimaru (sp?)
Grip: Rose / Stun / Pole / claymore
Head: Emperor Hairpin / Wturban / Wyvern helm
Body: Hauby / Scopion / Domaru
Back: amemet mantle +1
Neck: chiv chain / Bull Necklace
Hands: Hachiman Kote / Dusk / Tarasque Mitts +1
Waist: Life belt / Warwolf
Legs: Shinimusha
Feet: fuma sune-ate / Hachiman sune-ate / Dusk
Ranged: shigeto / Lighning
Ammo: Arrows
Ear 1 Fowling / Spike
Ear 2 Minuet / Spike
Ring 1 Ecphoria / Ruby / Snipers / Blood
Ring 2 Ecphoria / Ruby / Snipers / Blood


Merits are
Store tp 3/5
Shikko 1/5
Crit 4/4
GK 1/7 (second number is what i intend to take it to)
evasion 3/5(second number is what i intend to take it to)

I am looking to use carbonara for the event which will give me more store tp( different sites give a differnt value of store tp so far ive read store tp5, 6 and7?) and a few more HP

My thinking is to have 2 maybe 3 macro sets which is standard mobs ep - dc drop a chunk of ACC and more str haste or Attk

Boss floor gear as i would for merit camps

and a O s**t macro which is pile on the accuracy and send a call to the party members to let them know i'm in trouble.

The evasion build is what it is, it is there so hopefully if there are problems i dont ruin a run by dying.

My main focus is on the EP - DC mobs


My ideal build would be

Windlsicer (i know onimaru is better but i want RANA!!)
Stun Grip (this benefits the party more than pole IMO)
Shigeto Bow
Arrows (demon probably)
Wturban
c chain

Fuma Sune Ate

This i think is the best options ive got so far which is a balance of haste and Store TP, i will overshoot the store tp because im using carbonara but i dont know by how much.

Dependent on this i will ether replace the hands or get a new leg peice for the event.

what would you replace and why? how much TP can i lose off of the build because of the food and what peice would you drop for something a little better.

I suppose this is a sanity check to make sure im not missing anything with the gear ive got.

My thinking behind the Stun grip was interuption of spells and TP moves but if pole grip is better (and i can see why) then i will happily use that.

If onimaru is they way forward then that will be used as well i know the plus acc and attk will go along way. I really want Rana but you are right it is not fair on the other members to delibratly gimp myself and slow progress for an event, when people are giving up there time to do this!!

A couple points:

Soulflayers will piss you off eating pizza. They can, and will, use a move that removes all buffs, including food. They always seemed to use it on runs I used pizza. For the same reason you can use Askar body in Nyzul, I'd stick with meat.

EVA can only be meritted 4 times. But honestly, I wouldn't bother with EVA merits.

You aren't using ammo on SAM in Nyzul, except if needed to pull a mob. In which case, just use cheapo arrows. There's really no point to using Demon arrows here.

Work on an O-Hat. No -HP when doing the +EVA build, as well as +10 Acc. Yay.

I always go SAM to Nyzul. Personally I don't gear it all that different than I would for a merit party, except I wear my Askar body (TP), Rutter sabatons (WS), and pole grip, instead of my NQ hauby (/cry), hachiman feet, and rose strap. My gear gives me 20% haste. Accuracy is really not an issue in Nyzul with the exception of a few mobs (maybe the Qiqirn THFs for example). I eat mithkabobs, because soulflayers and colibri can strip your food, and really, you don't need pizza.

One thing others here may disagree with me on is your use of evasion gear. You don't need it. Go for damage. Remember your goal is to kill as quickly as possible. If you are /NIN, you really shouldn't be taking much damage anyways before a mob dies. Use third eye to help you get Ichi up if you need, it should be seamless SETE -> Ichi -> Ni -> repeat.

Looking at your gear:

Weapon: Onimaru (break windslicer on your own time)
Grip: Pole if you have 6-hit without Rose, otherwise rose
Head: W. Turban/Wyvern Helm, don't need hairpin for anything. You are /NIN anyways.
Body: Hauby/Domaru (killing the mob quickly is your ultimate goal)
Back: Amemit+1 (Get a smilodon+1 for YGK)
Neck: Chiv. Chain/Bull Necklace
Hands: Whatever it takes for 6-hit, Dusk preferred if you can, no need for Tarasque
Waist: Life belt/Warwolf ok, try to get some haste for TP
Legs: OK if you need those, but I bet there are better combinations of gear for your 6-hit, work on getting rajas to full time.
Feet: You have fumas, why would you use dusk?
Ear1: Fowling, don't need spike
Ear2: can improve here (brutal and the Ark Angels one come to mind, I forget what its called, I have suppa)
Rings: Whatever works to get you 6-hit and the most accuracy, STR for WS (Rajas, flame, etc)

Pretty much every normal mob in Nyzul can be solo'd without taking much damage at all. Many NMs can as well. Once you get rana, a solo SC can usually finish off a normal mob.

As for merits, finish off your store TP first. It is the most important to freeing up your gear while maintaining 6-hit. Don't forget overwhelm 5/5 either. I have 4/5 blade bash, and I find it to be pretty useful in Nyzul to have a stun for things like sleepga which can eat a lot of time if your healer is off assisting another party member (or if they happen to be in range).

You made a mistake, you need 21 STP for meleeing, which 5 hits puts you 83 even (16.6*5), meaning you would need an additional 0.4 stp return from ws, which you could swap hachi gloves for hachi feet and use a domaru (which I think he currently does).

If you're rolling at 20 STP for TP you need 23 STP for WS.

Typically people TP in 21 STP and ws in maybe 6, though prolly not needed.

Alternatively by capping merits you would only need 11 in gear, which could be rose strap and hachi gloves (4+8) and require no STP gear to WS in (besides rose strap).

Ideally you would want to get rajas ring and brutal earring, meaning you would only need 5 STP from gear, which could be
1. rose strap + chiv chain (or ering if you got PCC)
2. enkidu's subligar (or JSE blech assuming no haste legs)
3. ACP body with STP + chiv chain (or ering)
4. Hachi gloves
5. Askar body*****only on areas where you would naturally have capped accuracy, not full timed

Basically you want to drop your weakest gear slots for the stp without a heavy sacrifice of accuracy (ie don't drop haub first). Because you have easy options of dusk gloves and fumas sune-ate, you prolly want to look for other places. Were you to ever get byakko's haidate (or haste/acc ASA legs) this would be a slot you would want to use for haste.

Again to clarify, only ONLY use askar body in situations where you will already have near capped accuracy. It is inferior to haub in all other situations.

Also if you're using a hachi domaru over an osode (osode better) you won't need to use chiv chain or ering with brutal/rajas/rose since you'll overshoot on your ws to cover the .4 you would normally be shy.
