(New Samurai) Lv 70 Gear QuestionFollow

Hello!

I am a returning player, who has very little Samurai Experience. So far I have been playing for about 6-8 weeks, and I love Samurai. I have no level 75 character or Sky/Sea/Dynamis yet. My Samurai is at level 60, and I am levelling subs and farming for gear, etc.

Question is regarding gear at level 70. Please see: Snoo's Level 70 6-hit

I am reading up on X-hit builds, and if I have done my maths correctly, the above setup will be a 6-hit setup TPing as I have 21 Store TP at level 70. I also understand I will need to keep some sTP on my WS macro, which means losing even more STR etc.

I am wondering if a 6-hit build will be any good at 70?

At level 70, I would guess that I should just use "the best gear I can" regardless of Store TP. My hunch is that the above build will not perform too good, as I am sacrificing a lot to get the 21 Store TP.

So should I not worry about X-hit builds until I get to 75 and get my Store TP merits 5/5 and at least a Rajas Ring? (ie only 6 sTP to make up for a 6 hit).

Sorry for being rather long winded. And sorry if I am wasting your time with this, but I admit, I do not know the answer and appreciate input for the sake of keeping Samurais name up there. Where it belongs!

You shouldn't really worry about a 6-hit build with Hachiman gear at level 70, most of your parties that you'll sync to in order to get to 75 will be under 70 therefore making Hachiman's STP worthless. I don't remember many of my Imp parties going over level 70, and even then I hate that @#%^ing camp and would rather sync to birds until 75. I'd wait until you get to 75 to start thinking about a solid 6-hit build.

I was able to obtain a six hit at 70, and it can be well worth it. The real question is, what do you give up to get it? Hint: nothing is worth TPing in a Hachiman Domaru. Using one WSing to maintain that 6 hit is though.

About your gear: Platinum Grip +1 is best used with the Sorobo. The Pole Grip with Double Attack+2% is just about guaranteed to add 2% to your damage. No other grip will. You have some interesting earrings available now, do look into them.

to clarify a couple of things: I am only level 60 at the moment, so some slots probably have better choices at 70. I don't have Soboro, and no /DRG + Wyvern earring. I do need to get started on CoP for Soboro and Rajas Ring. Rose Strap is an item I would like from Campaign, so that is on my hit list too. Although, the way I am levelling, I think it may be 'easier' to level Samurai to 75, and then start working on those.

In terms of what am I sacrificing? Mainly O.Kotes on Hands and Ryl.Kgt. Breeches on legs (or if there is something better by 70). As this is my 1st/main character to level, I don't have leftover gear from other jobs, so unfortunately no sky/dynamis gear waiting for me as I level.

I realise now that I do Level Sync most parties, and that would mean I may be better not concentrating solely on a 6-hit build at 70, as syncing under 70 would render it useless. Hmmm. Why don't I just hit 70 first, then re-assess.. I always think too far ahead :D sorry!
