Hagun obtained now what??Follow
So i finally purchased a Hagun after a many months of fishing and mining (2.675M). What should I do with my Onimaru? Does it have a use, if so when and where. If not I could use the 180k kinda broke now. I'm sure this has been asked before but I'm still not "sold" on it, only had it for a day and no parser, but I do see a big difference on WS damage.

Onimaru is still good for 250+ TP WS, so if you do anything where you're gonna be doing that a lot... keep it around.

Hagun adds 100TP to the WS you perform. No percentage. Onimaru beats Hagun out at higher TP because the base dmg comes into play and the Hagun fTP is negated in terms of the max damage bonus that Hagun gives is at 200TP, since 200TP = 300TP as far as Hagun is concerned.
Did that make sense? I don't think it did. Wtf am I talking about. I need to stop posting after a few drinks.

If you are a perfectionist , keep onimaru for 300TP SATA WS for gods and such. It definitely beats hagun. Besides that, I don't see a reason to still keep it. And you won't just notice the damage on hagun right away. If you don't have parser, merit with onimaru for a while, then switch to hagun, you'll notice the awesomeness.

sell it. even if you 300%TP WS, you can sekka and have 2 overall stronger WSs. the difference between the 2nd WS counting as 300%TP instead of 200% is larger than the difference between a straight 100%TP hagun and 100%TP onimaru (since the martial bonus doesn't apply to the first sekka WS).
even if 300%TP WSs did want you to use onimaru, it's not worth forfeiting the 180k for a freak chance that 1 WS out of the dozens if not hundreds you'll do in a day will be a tiny bit stronger.

Due to the addition of Sekkanoki the number of situations where you "should" use 300% tp WS is pretty much 0.

My LS was doing the Tatami Shield NM. Basic tactic: build TP on local mobs, WS on the NM.
So I went /THF and dusted off the Onimaru. I was rather disappointed. Then again I didn't have the chance to add the TA into the 300 TP SA WS.
I have been doing sky Gods with the Hagun. If someone asks me to use the Onimaru I will. I keep it just in case. But I am sitting on ~2M so I do not need to sell it.

Trick attack adds no damage if you aren't THF main. If THF sub, all TA does is give the enmity for the attack to whoever you did it on.
For SAM at 75, you won't need it. However I keep mine around as it is the GKT I use when I level sync (49 or lower) messing around with friends, etc. The higher base DMG will make it a better GKT when you are synced. Of course if you sync 50 -> 72, soboro will be the best choice.
Edit: Then again I guess you can just sell it and buy a cheaper, lower level GKT. Choice is yours.

Sell Onimaru, if you are broke.. Get an Ushiki~~blahblah from sky for free. If your shell will let you. You wont need Oni outside rare occasions, since you own Hagun.. And since you spent so long getting the damn thing, use it where ever possible. I would, unless it actually gimps the party/alliance some how.

100 TP WS + 300 TP WS with hagun > 100 TP WS + 200 TP WS with Onimaru > 300 TP WS with Onimaru
If you're skill chaining, use hagun and sekkanoki. Can solo SC every 5 mins for more damage than the oni WS would have done. If you're free WSing, use Hagun + Sekkanoki. It'll do more damage than the oni WS would have done. If you're SATA WSing at the start of a fight, free WS with sekka and then SATA WS with hagun @200 TP, it will do more...you get the idea.
100 TP WS + 300 TP WS with hagun > 100 TP WS + 200 TP WS with Onimaru > 300 TP WS with Onimaru

Yea I agree with these guys. Even though my Sam has been 75 for a while i just recently forked up the gil to get it. I have PLD as main so that job was first priority.
