What would you like to see for your job: Ninja Edition!Follow

Since the job forums have been pretty inactive for awhile, I thought I'd start a new topic in each devoted to things you'd like or wish that Square Enix would do with each job. They can be legitimate things you'd like to see, or they could be absurd, and, while they can be, they don't have to be any serious or groundbreaking changes you think each job needs, just something you think would improve them a bit in some form. Just try to keep the topic clean and drama free (emphasis on try). Just have some fun with this and let your ideas soar.

Well, besides the obvious Jubaku Ni and things like that, why don't Ninjas have some sort of sneak attack...thing? Ninjas have always been sneaky, stealthy individuals, not "Oh, look at the shadows you're hitting! But I'm still right here in front of you!" What I'd like to see is, occasionally, whenever a shadow is destroyed, the mob takes some extra damage and briefly turns around like something just hit it from behind.

A sleep ninjutsu. It just seems like something an assassain of the night would have. It could even completely fail vs NMs just for trash mobs.

misdirection, in various forms. blind isnt the same as flash. the flash powder/sand in face type temporary affect is more nin than blind but whatever :). arrow catching/deflecting, even mythbusters showed its possible regardless of improbable. stun same logic as flash powder. and im forgetting the obvious A+ for ninjutsu/katana. more katanas that arent rare/ex. for example if you start abby you can get a good dagger etc with dominion points but no katana. our throwing is useless and as for ranged weapons we can use ...
personally i dont think gear should be mnk/nin/sam/pup. in real terms mnk is armourless, nin is chain, sam is scale plus and i have no idea about pup. dnc can use stuff that nin cant use brego for example. sometimes its as if nin cant use because it might actually be useful.

For 10 years I've been bothered with the need to cancel utsusemi:ni in order to successfully cast utsusemi:ichi

PLEASE make it so utsusemi:ichi can overwrite utsusemi:ni.

While not directly/exclusively NIN-related, in that same regard, I'd also like to see all forms of the SNEAK effect be able to be overwritten by all other forms of SNEAK (I.E. spectral jig should be able to overwrite sneak without the need to cancel the existing one, monomi:ichi able to overwrite WHM sneak, and vice-versa)

These are two frickin' archaic features that need to burn in hell.

Though it isn't an adjustment to Mijin, the new NIN ability looks like a very powerful DD addition.

We’ve adjusted this ability to be more focused on attacking. The more shadows you have the stronger the effect will become, so by skillfully not taking the attention of your target or positioning yourself in a good attack position it will be possible to take advantage of this effect.

Ninja I'd like to natural footmen speed increase at night, that stacks with shoes. Maybe 5% Or so.

1. More throwing options that are cheap and affordable, don't have to even do large amounts of DMG, can make target weak to certain element DMG, or susceptible to certain type of enfeeble.

2. For issekigan, Yonin, and innin I'd like to see an actual animation change of stance when under the effect of those abilities. It's irritating that, berserk, defender, soul eater, counter stance, Hasso, Seigan, velocity shot, sentinel, rampart, footwork, impetus, are all stance changes that change how you fight but Don't change the jobs fighting stance, if it isn't for the outfits half the time you wouldn't know who is what. Feels lazy, and not that they lack creativity. They've constructed a beautiful game. I can come up with stances at the top of my head.

3. Yonin - stance has increased RNG attack, and occasionally throws 2 items instead of 1. Stance is more lose with feet movement with katanas facing front. In a parrying preparing motion. When shadows are cast a blinking version can be seen in either side of the Ninja.

4. Innin - stance Allows you to melee attack, range attack and cast ninjutsu while invisible as long as you stay behind the target. When shadows are up, doing an attack, both copies on both sides of the Ninja appear to be the ones attacking whole time. One casts the ninjitsu, the other melees, only the original throws.

5. Add utsusemi: San for level 75. Make it like 10 seconds to cast 7 shadows, and put it on a disgusting 10 minute counter. Ninja doesn't really need it. Just an aesthetic kind of thing.

6. The shadow clones attacking that Gessho does in his fight. Would be cool to be able to do. Split attack, magic attack, defense, magic defense, 6 ways. So copies of you can bombard an enemy. Wears off when the real ninja gets hit. As long as the main ninja has shadows up the mob will miss the copies, but every swipe at a copy, eats a shadow. Until your out of shadows and copies. Not sure how the misdirection would work. Some kind of hate reset mechanic. And have one copy programmed to immediately grab hate, special shuriken, pre emptive triple attack or random fast ninjutsu.

7. He all utsusemi spells stack shadows, and not just miss. It's a waste of ninja tools. Granted it does make shadow tanking interesting.



Ninja is a pretty good job, other than that little hang up,
