Right now, NIN is one of the most -goto- melee jobs. Not only is it a great tank inside abyssea, we're dealing some serious dmg at very fast speeds. The fact we are the fastest hitting job has allowed us to maximise the amazingly fun atma's such as RR and Apoc. We're capping haste on gear with multiple additions to DW from gear.
Outside of abyssea; although nin's had some great gains (capping SB with Myoshu, Miga, and reducing enemy TP gain by 10% with Yurin), aswell as some great DD pieces and a sexy set bonus from our AF3+2 gear which also takes Utsusemi to the next level, also including much better weapons, one that imo is going to be needed to compete - the kanagi, aswell as katana's with nearly +25EVA on them.
Theres still issues however once we lose the atma power that arguably benefits NIN more than any other melee. The things i've done outside of abyssea at 90 include Dyna and voidW. Standard Dyna (no arch's) is fine, although the MNK or SAM is going to be dealing more damage then you are. My first VoidW I was a little like 'wtf'? Needing a pizza and still not having a great hit rate with mobs that are also defensive too kills ninja's uses. The other DD's in the game have all goten large boosts to their dmg output aswell, those differences ar much more noticable when mobs have high eva and defence. 2H's pull way ahead in those occasions which means we become a very subpar DD (again) and a sub-par tank (again).
So has Ninja really been fixed? Or are we just living of the benefits Atma gives to the job. Outside of abyssea if feels like in chipping away with sticks again. All this crit dmg+gear, I hope SE brings out a pices of nin only gear with crit rate+30 on at 99.
