As 76 NIN/WAR I sat LFG for 10 hours yesterday, with a /seacom for an Abyssea party. Never got one.

Does the community sea ninjas as fail now?

Any tips on finding a party?

After getting SAM to 75 to 85 in all of 10 hours, I don't think I can go back to campaign on any job.

Umm, it was a Thursday yesterday. Weekday invites have always been bad for me. Come back if you can't get an invite on friday-Saturday. Mon-Thur and even sunday are bad for invites

Yeah, planning on trying again tonight, hopefully something pans out. I didn't realize there was a weekend-onry rule with Abyssea, but I guess it makes sense given the dwindling population.

Might be your server. Most parties I've been in have had a few NIN in them (last 4 parties have had 2-3 NIN) on Bahamut. I got a quick invite on my NIN as well just the other day (mid week). NIN can really be a beast in Abyssea. Pizza+1, temp items (spam them as they wear off), and great Atma all put out some fantastic numbers. Remember that lots of other pickup DD's won't be caring/paying attention so you'll have some great spike numbers, in comparison, with Jin.

That being said, making friends or at least talking with people while you're in the ally will help a ton. One or two good performances on a highly desired job will have you getting tells from people you partied with the night before. Good party on my COR got me invites as RNG. Good party on WAR got me invites as MNK and NIN.

Another thing to do is build a few alliances yourself. If you do a good job setting it up, then you have 17+ people that will recognize your name next time you're flagged up and want to exp.

All this can hurt you as well. If you gimp it up or build an awful ally just for the sake of getting things going, people will remember that too. I think it's been this way since the advent of groups in the dunes but now with a smaller pool of players, everyone remembers each other much more.

Yeah, I think it was just because I was seeking on a weeknight. I got a group on Friday night and took it from 76 all the way to 85 in one party. Damage was epic fail at 75 but by the time I got to around 81-82 or so and got some more skill points in Katana it got pretty respectable. Looking forward to skilling up Evasion and getting some decent Atma.

Here's hoping NIN gets something nice in the next update. Still debating whether I should concentrate on NIN or DNC as my "solo" job. I really prefer NIN but they keep buffing the crap out of DNC so it's a tough call.

On another note, lost lot on Iga feet by 4 points :( they really need to boost drop rate on feet. Only saw 5 drops in about 8-10 hours, nin, drg, and 3 pup.

If you have, and put the 'Razzed Ruins' Atma in your /seacom, you'll be snapped up pretty fast.

Any DD with a Crit WS, and RR, can get a PT pretty fast.

Bastion makes it easy to solo xp, and you can skill-up and quest while waiting for the next waves to come in.
I'd also add that as word of how powerful RR atma is, Ninja seems to be making a comeback popularity wise. Just finished up my 2nd EVA katana yesterday (my 4th total Magian for NIN) and I saw more NIN's out than I've seen in an age. The tide is definitely turning.
