What we know: almost nothing. Maybe 1 hit. Its quad damage, and chance of crit on TP%. SC property Grav/Dark. No word yet on WSC mods, or fTP.

What we think: Possible upgrades to both. A +2 is not out of the question as there are many blue boxed armors, or even a renamed upgrade is possible. We don't know so its mainly speculation, but my personal personal belief is that there will be upgrades. It looks like a one hit, and depending on mods/crit could be the NIN's gekko.

What it could mean: NIN becomes a much better DD. Capped haste in any number of gear choices with new empyrian armor +1 and +2. Great Jin set ups already, with the possibility to full time meat [I'm at like 91% with 8/8 katana, pizza and no Anwig Salade on WS.]

Fudo is 2x damage, and is looking to be a Gekko killer, Ukko's Fury looks promising [as if Wars need another kickass WS lol...] Rudra's Storm for THF could be amazing too.

My questions: Does any NIN out there have Tobi+1 weapon, or are you working on it currently and close enough to tell us anything about fTP or WSC? I'm only 2x Briareus helms, and looking like its gonna be a long, arduous, expensive road for Kannagi, and I want to make sure before I devote the path to it, and not just get the Tobi+1. It looks like the Walk of Echoes Weapons will be the go to weapon for any serious DD about your job.

I'm curious if anyone has this too, or any other one handed weapon with the weapon skills because I want to know if you can use weapon skill offhand. If it's like relic weapon skill it only works in main hand, which is my guess but would like to know for sure if anyone has tested it.

This, well short of a few thousand ws kills to finish trials XD But I was interested in the ws mostly, looks neat and if it's decent would be nice to use.

Lol I spam that thread daily looking for info on NIN weapon, and the few hours I don't it shows up...

If the theory that the Mod for each WS is the accompanying +10 stat on the empyrian, then it looks like AGI will be the mod [STR was mod for SAM and WAR, VIT appears to be the mod for DRG weapon, AGI is most likely the mod for NIN.]

Nin gets a couple of good pieces for AGI: Maat's Cap, Osode, S kote, Hachiryu feet, although there may be better STR pieces for some of those of those slots. NIN also gets some nice Crit DMG+, as well as adding the ATMA's that give DEX+, and Crit+.

4K damage... is hot. Not to mention the Empyrean aftermath of 2x DMG...

I have played with Ejiboo in WoE right after the got Daka+1 (Rudra's Storm dagger). I can confirm when you off-hand this weapon you will not get the ws.

Daka+1 is very competitive. It is the weapon to get for the DD thf who can't afford (or be bothered with): twashstar, mandau/vajra.

Blade: Hi is 4.0 fTP 60% AGI to Jin's 1.0 fTP 30% STR 30% DEX. Hi is two hits including offhand (5.0 fTP), Jin is four (4.0 fTP). Add 0.1 fTP for both for gorgets. Double/triple attack only procs on the first two hits and you're looking at up to 22% DA and 3% TA in both builds (/WAR, Brutal, Atheling, Epona's, Anguinus). This raises Hi's average fTP to 5.6622 while Jin is now marginally less than 4.6622 (would lose one hit on 2x TA procs, very small effect). ~21.5% advantage to Hi.

Now consider WSC and attack. Using a Hume NIN/WAR with STR merits, Bison Steak, and Tobi +2 as our baseline, I'm getting pretty comparable numbers here. The builds I used aren't really optimized (read: I just threw them together for this), but what I used had Jin getting slightly higher attack while Hi had higher WSC, at roughly the same % increase on each. If I swapped out Varangian Helm on Jin for Aias Bonnet, Jin would have equal/slightly lower attack but comparable WSC. This is disregarding weapon optimization for each WS (would probably favor Jin slightly) but you get the point. Hi is ~15-20% ahead of Jin outside Abyssea.

Today i got Blade:hi and im looking on some input how to gear for it. Today in pt i used RR/GH and it was doing between 1.8-4.2k on frogs la thiene. My WSset is weak at best(dont have much agi gear since i never needed it before now) and im missing the last lunar so im sure i can push this way higher.
Any suggestion on gear for Blade:Hi and why would be welcomed. I got access to most of the gear ingame so a ideal set is what im looking for. Also i wonder what atma's would work best for nin with it.

Situational notes: Varangian Helm may beat Maat's/Bersail/AF+1 in the head slot, but only if it doesn't uncap your hitrate. Even when it doesn't uncap hitrate I'd only expect it to win with Berserk down. MKD hat with STR+4 WSACC+15/AGI+4 WSDMG+2% beats both. Tumbler Trunks performed almost identically to Ambusher's Hose in my calculations with Berserk down (easily loses with it up), but Ambusher's were still generally favored. Gorget may be superior to Hope Torque depending on WSC and pDIF. Crudelis Belt should outperform Anguinus slightly with Berserk up (assuming capped hitrate), elemental belt performs comparably to Crudelis. Replace Centaurus Earring with an AGI+ earring if pDIF capped.

As mentioned, RR/Apoc/GH is your ideal DD atma setup.

5.4k isn't that impressive for an empy WS :/ Have had numerous Jin's trump that.

By no means did I say that I consistantly break 5.4k on things that matter. But I have out-damaged many Tobi NIN's. Hi is basically just Jin v2. Is it better? Yes. But without Kannagi, I don't really think it is worth it. And as for NM's that matter, where in the posters comment that I referred to did it say that they did 5.4k on something worth while?

All I did was say that 5.4k is not impressive, at least its not worth mentioning as a 'high' damage.

Any NIN who isn't retarded will use /WAR though. And not /SAM.

Don't recall the exact number but I did a 5.5-5.6k Jin in a pickup Bluffalo party a while back, not particularly well geared at the time. Hi definitely averages significantly higher in Abyssea though, especially since you're capping dDEX whereas you probably won't with Hi outside Abyssea.

Are you really talkiing about /SAM?

A slight increase in WS frequency VS your melee and ws dmg suffering. I guess your probably just trolling.

In abyssea it's pretty much all crit damage and agi, this is because fstr and ddex are capped. Outside you'll want to prioritize a little more dex and str if you're fighting voidwatch type mobs - against EP mobs your abyssea set should work.
